V-Block Trimmer

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Deb's V-Block Trimmer® helps in the construction and trimdown of perfect V-Block units. One end is used for cutting the center and side triangles, and the other is for trimming down the units to the perfect size. Your seams will go directly from the corners into the center of the opposite seam. Perfection!

Ive noticed this video was made 12 years ago. The tools are timeless! I'm new to Deb Tucker tools but so excited they have been around for a long time. And I'm starting to enjoy your video and tools.

Deb, I bought this ruler from you several years at a quilt show, but never used it. Today, I was looking for my Tri-recs tools (which I have never been able to use) and found your V-block trimmer! FIRST TRY!!! Perfect V triangles! You are THE BEST!!! Thank you!

So about a week ago I was determined to accurately cut, sew, press my pieces for my quilt. After a week of watching your videos- you have easily conformed me to cut larger, sew and trim for more accurate pieces. I ordered 2 tools. Cant wait to use them!

I'm a visual learner, so this video was the perfect companion to the instructions which come with the ruler. Thanks for making it clear! I've never made such accurate "v" blocks!

I am using my vblock trimmer for the first time to make moondance quilt pattern by Eleanor Burns. I find this so much more accurate than making them the way its described in her video. Thanks again for great instructional video and another great tool.

Your instructions are always so clear and well-illustrated. I especially appreciate the red-line highlights when you’re pointing out a specific part of the ruler. No guesswork!! When I need a specialty ruler I always go to Studio 180 Design first. I know I can rely on the ease-of-use and accuracy of your product. Thank you!

Have sat and watched ALL your vids today. I am loving your rulers and that you have taken into consideration US LEFTIES. Your directions on here are so precise and I am sure they are on the direction sheets that are with all the rulers. .......NOW I THINK I HAVE TO BUY ALL OF THEM. lol. :o) Thanks for sharing.

Another great tool! Yeah, I'll have to get another ruler rack with a tag labeled: Deb Tucker rulers. :>) Just a note....for lefties you're flipping the fabric west to east (or left to right) not north to south. I'm a lefty sort of..actually ambidextrous but so nice of you to show folks, who can't cut with both hands, the other way to cut. On to your next video...what fun.

I’m trimming it like I’m supposed to but I’m supposed to have a 4 and half finished square and keep ending up with 5 inches if I trim it according to directions

When we talk about finished and unfinished sizes it is sometimes different than other designers. We define finished size as when it is in the quilt and all the seams are sewn. Unfinished or cut size we define as the size it is on the cutting mat after all the trimming is done before you sew the unit into a project. So if you follow the directions and make a 4 1/2" finished unit is will measure 5" on the cutting mat. If you want a unit that measures 4 1/2" on the cutting mat then you will want to make a 4" finished unit. I hope this helps please let me know if you have have more questions.

@@hannahcoleman7939 You are welcome. It is hard to determine how pattern writers use terminology as we don't have a set of rulers or guidelines for them, which makes it tricky. Good luck with your project and let me know if you need anything else.

Very much like the "Lazy Angle" rule designed by Jane Hawley.

The directions on that ruler are nonexistent and the provide limited instructions and no instructional videos. You have to spend $30 to get more instructions. The book is not helpful either. I usually l8ke CreativeGrids rulers, the Lazy Angle is worthless. Tucker’s much better for the triangle type units with much better instructions.
