Accuquilt Studio: Cutting Fabric Scraps Into Squares With A Strip Die

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I'm using a Go! 2" strip die on my Studio cutting machine to cut 2" squares. I'm using scrap fabrics to cut many fabrics into lots of squares.

Love that idea. You got a lot done in a small amount of time. I’m going to search your videos to see if I can find any creations you have made from the squares.

If you don't have a cutter, Accuquilt will sometimes have it on sale for half off; just did that last month. Maybe check a month or two before Christmas.

Thanks again, Tea!!!! I was on the fence about the value of a cutter. Your video showed me that with careful use, I can buy a minimal number of dies yet maximize the results.

We bought the Accuquilt Go and have only used it once!! Now, I have the Accuquilt Electronic Go---forgot the name but it is bigger and doesn't hurt my hand. Although, Jim would crank it for me if I wanted but he does have a few other chores to do, right? lol

Hi, I recently discovered you on utube and love your ideas and videos. I was looking for a easy free motion design on the longarm and found you demonstrating the swirls. I got a lot from the video . first I have always just quilted border to border but was watching you how you did kind of a area at a time and then you do not see rows. I tried this and really liked it. second how you quilted around the text on the quilt by changing the pattern to a smaller one and filled in and around the letters. I now am watching for new videos from you. When you went to Missouri star you demo the same enthusiasm as I did when I went . Thank y

Thank you so much Linda! I appreciate you taking the time to respond and for looking at them. I get asked so many questions, which is why I started this channel. I'm excited when quilters can use something from my videos.

If you want to help mother nature you can put those little scraps out for the birds to use to add to their nests and help out mother nature.

I save them for a friend who makes dog beds for the shelters. The larger dogs beds can be filled with all fabric and batting scraps.

So the direction of the selvage doesnt matter? The other video a woman said the salvages had to be 1 direction.

Hi Patricia, If I'm using yardage or FQs, I will make the selvage enter on the lengthwise grain. However, for true scraps, that can't always happen. I've had no problems with my method. Remember, some rules can be broken! In the end, I'm actually cutting both lengthwise and widthwise. Thanks for watching and commenting.
