I have a repurposed soft outer carrier that accepts plates that I then put some inexpensive steel plates in. I then attached a pouch for extra pistol magazines and a holster for the bedside pistol. That way I have the ability to grab the pistol for immediate action. If immediate action is not needed, then I have time to put on the armor carrier. I then have the ability to holster the bedside pistol and then grab the PCC carbine that utilizes the same magazines as the bedside pistol.
