Nice fishing! Love those simple Penn reels I still have mine from the 1970s and they still work great, simple maintenance and they will last forever also the same with Adu Garcia Ambassador's.

Went down to Sain luis pass couple days ago, I’m getting excited for this warmer weather there where Spanish Mack’s and Mullet everywhere in the surf. Tides and current was so strong couldn’t keep the smaller rods out and I left after about two hours , but it’s looking very promising.

You should start by replacing the click spring if you can. Some of the really old Senators don't have a replaceable one which means you'll need a new tail plate.

Lol I just cleaned my Penn Jigmaster today. Same process!

That's a tribute to the venerable Penn reel. I believe the only Penn reels still made in the USA are the Senator and International. I have an old 309 that I recently restored and it looks and functions like new even though I'm pretty sure my grandpa bought it in the 1960's if not earlier. Bought a fiberglass trolling rod and 50 lb mono just to keep it classic and planning to take it trolling off Bali when the Corona restrictions are lifted.

When shark fishing in South Africa we prefer to fish the brown water. Sharks normally hunt in the brown water or low light conditions since they are harder to spot

idk if you are gonna see this but i wanted to tell you something about your rods. my advice for putting them in the back of your truck is putting something protective on the rod like even a pool noodle. eventually hitting bumps over and over again it damages the rod. just warning you because I have broken many many rods like that.

Good video. You should go to Roy's and buy a bottle of reel cleaner. Spray some of it inside that Penn when you have it open. Also use it to spray all your reels when you finish fishing. It's much better than water to rinse off the salt.
