Just a tip from an old Corpus Christi beach bum/fisherman when you fight those bigger ones step a little closer to the water when you're fighting them. It's easier when you have them close to just take a few steps back than to run from damn near the dunes to land em, especially if you are by yourself. Keep up the awesome work you are doing , it makes me proud that you're showing the whole world Corpus Christi fishing is first class!!!!!

Just watched your video. We used to have a shark fishing camp that we’d set up every July 4th for about 10 days at the 12 mile mark. From our experience: You can always catch sharks at anytime, but, we found that the sharks would cruise the guts right at dark +/-. We would always make sure that our rods had fresh baits before dark. Oddly enough, we would hook up primarily in the first gut. Just make sure you have a bait in each gut.

Dude! Throughout not a single one of the several hundred KZread videos I've watched about catching sharks from the beach has anyone else ever even once taken the time to say anything about what a good idea you've convinced me that it obviously is to bring things like bolt cutters and a tail rope. I've seen these things used in a few videos over the years, but the people in those videos I guess just assumed someone like me, who's still - after years of failed attempts - only just dreaming of finally catching one, would somehow already know about stuff like that. You freaking Rock! I really appreciate your approach, I dig watching you fish, and I wanted to say thank you for going the extra mile to share your valuable experience.

A friend and I use to do this as young teenagers 45 years ago. We would paddle the bait fish out on a surfboard, gut it, turf it into the water and quickly paddle back. We would have a game harness( his dad’s) and tie ourselves to a tree near the beach. Often it would take hours to get a big bronze whaler in. We always let them go. Great fun when stoned.

A conservationist would not have stabbed a shark in the face, then yanked on the wound for minutes, just for the sake of making a few dollars on your video channel. As for your comment about how wonderful it was to be out on that beach with nobody else around: if the beach were completely deserted then no fish would have had their day ruined by a piece of metal through the face, which would make for an even better beach. So you catch some big-enough-to-eat fish but you don't eat them: you use them as bait with which to torture bigger fish, which you then release, again wasting the chance to have at least some justification for what you're doing out there. All for KZread and passing the time. I regret to inform you that I am unable to celebrate your accomplishments at this time. I'm not a vegan or even a vegetarian but I do think it's cruel and selfish to catch and release. Catch a fish or two and eat them, so you get to have a good time and a good meal and also not support the factory farming industry. Or take up racquetball or something.

You can also crush the barbs on your smaller hooks or grind them off of your larger thicker hooks. I do that on my circle hooks. Never gets stuck in their mouths.

OK, New sub. from a long way from any beach so I enjoy watching others do it. So far I am impressed, which in the long run don't mean squat to you, but for me to hang around for more action your treatment of the fish you catch is awesome. You may very well be for Real!! Keep up the good work young man. :)
