Catching Sharks from the Beach & How it Started

In this episode of BlacktipH, I catch sharks from the beach and tell the story of how everything started with BlacktipH. I began the morning searching for sharks using the drone and found a school swimming along the beach. After casting a bait, it took less than five minutes to hook the first shark. This shark put up a great fight, jumping and jetting around. I landed and released the blacktip shark, then threw out another bait. After a few hours we caught two more blacktip sharks at the same spot.

I am 13 and you have been such a big inspiration to me I have been going fishing so much more recently because of you and things that I pick up from you I actually use and are helpful. I also convinced my dad to buy a boat and he did so now we go fishing 3-4 times a week depending on weather. Pls like so he can see. Thanks for the likes guys!

Mika Mirsham my dad and I only bought a boat and trailer for $2000 and it carries 4 people and I didn’t force him we just share the same interests
Josh has caught probably hundreds of sharks and he still screams like a little girl when he fights them lol

Whether they're 5m or 100m from shore, its still adrenalin pumping because its basically a battle between man and beast with the fact that whichever one is more determined to be the winner.....The one thing that I can say about Blacktip h is that he is like some of us other hardcore anglers, he will push himself to the breaking point and beyond when it comes to fighting the Big Boys and then he'll do it again.....in Short, if you can't push yourself way pass your breaking point when it comes to sharks and Goliath Groupers, don't go fishing with him...unless if your like me and will fish yourself nearly to death then have at it.... Lol!!!!!
I fished the blacktip challenge back in like 2013 I want to say, Blacktiph got me into shark fishing here in Florida and I have been doing it ever since about 2012 when I first watched these videos. I have had some great experiences from kayaking baits out in huge surf in the middle of the night, to catching 10ft+ tiger sharks, I owe it to you man, keep it up!

Well Josh, the videos are as good as always. I had a fall last month so I am now recovering from another (urgent) spine surgery so am behind on the uploads. Could you do a video on how to safely catch and release sharks from shore. I’ve always wanted to go beach fishing but don’t know how to do it safely.

You are an inspiration in the fishing community....I too moved from the north east down to the South Carolina coast.... saltwater fishing is where it's at!
Blacktip hunter back then was always on the fishing forums giving people tips from day one. What ever happened to the infinity fishing team? Do you ever plan on re doing the blacktip challenge?

It’s awsome to hear your story josh, I just got my first “big” shark reel, a 14/0 senator and just caught my first predator shark, a 6.5 ft bull and it sparked the interest for sure, can’t wait to move down to Florida now and get into it more often

When i was like six i loved fishing we had a boat named the overbite and we went red snapper fishing every summer. But then I stoped fishing for like three years but i liv on the water so watched one of your videos the redfish one and i started to love fishing again like this thanks josh😀
Where at near Detroit? I grew up in Flushing, just outside of Flint. Your story is very inspiring, I had just graduated in 2006 from Flushing High School when you were starting what would be your channel. Very awesome, Michigan is a great state to live for outdoorsman but fishing is much different than in Florida. My aunt lived right by the where they launched the space shuttles, when visiting we would always go fishing for Jack's and anything else we could get close to shore.

Nice tip on keeping the drag tight. I always keep it loose and find I will miss some hook ups. Going to try a tighter drag from now on.
