Using BRIDGE EDGE LOOPS in Blender to Create Complex Shapes with Lofting!

In this video, learn how to use the bridge edge loops function to create complex skins and other objects from edges inside of Blender!
Blender documentation link - docs.blender.org/manual/en/la...
Note - all edges must be in the same object
Adding circles
Joining them into a group with CTRL+J
Lofting - select edges, then CTRL+E
Select the option for bridge edge loops
Connect Loops - Closed Loop vs. Open Loop vs. Loop Pairs
Merge - Merges loops rather than creating a skin - note that edges must have the same number of segments
Twist - Adds a twist to the object being created - note that we’ll need the same number of segments
Number of Cuts - Adds intermediate detail loops
Interpolation - Adjusts the way the intermediates are calculated - linear is more straight, while blend path and blend surface are more curved. Blend path seems to have vertical orientation more dictated by path, while surface seems to create a more predictable, straight up and down surface.
Smoothness - This applies a smoothing factor to your surface - by moving the value up and down, you can really change how smooth and flowing your surfaces is
Profile Factor - Adjusts how much the new edges are shrunk/expanded.
Profile Shape - this is going to affect the shape of the edges that are created - you can get more information on what each of them is going to do here - docs.blender.org/manual/en/la...

Thanks for the video it just saved my sanity. I could not figure out why when I tried to bridge two objects nothing happened. When I duplicated an object while in Edit mode the Bridge tool worked. However, whenever I duplicated an object in Object Mode and then went into Edit Mode with both objects selected, the Bridge tool did not work. This video made me realize that the most important thing for this tool is that the objects to be bridged must be joined!!!

I kinda wish you had created the circles and mentioned the Ctrl+J thing at the very beginning of the video. This really doesn't work without that step. I was going nuts trying to figure out how you made the circles into a single object until I opened the description and read that step. I'm brand new to Blender, so I thought maybe that I was supposed to use bezier circles instead of mesh circles, but those didn't work either. I realized after watching the rest of the video that you covered Joining later. But I tend to pause your videos as I learn, so I never got to that part. I was stuck for quite awhile trying to make the opening circles work. I almost quit the tutorial in frustration until I thought to look in the description. I find your videos are the most helpful. Most "beginner" tutorials seriously suck because the instructors are great technicians but very poor teachers. They assume a base level of knowledge about Blender where there may not actually be one for a beginner. Your videos are excellent, but be careful. You're an expert. What's a small step for you may be a dealbreaker for noobs who won't just "figure it out". I'm a Photoshop/Illustrator instructor, so I'm not unschooled. I'm just really new to 3D. This is a totally different design methodology that literally requires a dimensional shift in how one thinks about space and asset creation. I'm having to break a lot of old habits to learn new ones. I love your courses, but sometimes I feel like I'm hanging on for dear life just to follow you, because I missed a small step like this one.
