The first LP I got for Christmas was Uriah Heep Live. I still listen to it. I played keyboard in a band from Wiesbaden and we opened for Uriah Heep Concert in Lahnstein on April 7, 1987 - it was the greatest thing ever

This musical masterpiece should be classified as a hymn for the times we live in.

This is one of the most beautiful pieces of music of all time. Period.

F#%ing insane and beautiful music from an era long gone... I heard this tune as a youngster living overseas in Greece, my older brothers all had kickass old school stereos, lol. Those old stereo systems were BAD@$$, the very best sound systems available back in the day... and tunes like THIS sounded SO F#%ING GOOD while cranked on these systems, lol. I was lucky to have seven older brothers who ALL dug rock & roll, yeah?

Today is only yesterday's tomorrow... Best lyric ever! Uriah Heep is my favorite band. Discovered them at a yard sale at age 10 in 1984 buying 6 of their albums for 25 cents a piece. Been hooked ever since 37 years later!!

Nice discovery at that yard sale. You got me by 20 years. I'm 59 and saw these guys twice.....in the 70s but I never really knew how amazing they were till now. They always came on stage as a front band for the corporate headline....nudge or AC DC or judas priest like that....but these guys are the most prolific rock band in history. And the most beautiful ever...... I just figured this out. I'm 59...so.....I guess it's never too late ......this is the most beautiful rock I've ever heard. I play drums and can't wait to play to this....if I can....

Living in San Diego fortunate enough to see them more than once, open seating my friend had to be up front so there we were , it was great, I think we got one of Mick box guitar picks a small Hoffner

"Circle of hands, cold spirits plan, Searching my land...for an enemy! Came across...love's sweet cost, and in the face of beauty, evil was lost!" What a stanza! I could teach a master class on this guy's lyrics! I'm not a musicologist but I'd like to have a go at teaching the proper compositional accompaniment to these words, setting the perfect mood to such words! The sinister elements, "Sky full of eyes, minds full of lies, black from their cold hearts, down to their graves" juxtaposed with the hopeful struggle, "we must keep them away, or pretty soon we'll pay, and count the cost in sorrow, sacrifice...the future has its price, and today is only yesterday's tomorrow!" This song has it all and these guys are MASTER storytellers! Instrumentation, vocals and words!

Byron didn't write these lyrics; they were written by Hensley (as were most of the more poetic lyrics).

Best track of the album, and one of UH greatest songs ever

I cried for the beauty and memories, just beautiful tears of joy.

Music like this is sadly not anymore. The lyrics, the harmonies, the melody all beautifully intwined making a masterpiece of classic timeless progressive rock. The vocal Melody’s put bands such as Queen to shame though I’m not a Queen fan at all. The soaring guitar compliments Mr. Byron’s vocal Melody’s beautifully. Mr Hensley is a master composer and his keyboards and organ are classic. I’m a big progressive rock fan and this would be modern along with classic periods. Nothing made today has that creative original quality like Byron era Heep.

I don’t know about putting Queen to shame. That’s quite a statement. Don’t get me wrong though Heep is one of the best bands and it seems like they have been forgotten about.

Demons & Wizards didn't have one bad song on it. Its a masterpiece ❤ 🎸🎸🎵

I have been listening to this song since the 70's ! It's one of my favorites besides led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd!!!

I grew up listening to these guys . Love the Magicians Birthday and that WHOLE album also.

One of the most underrated bands ever they were excellent

Even Jon Lord or Ted Neally would weep to have thought of this organ.... its true.....we just never knew how powerful the non, corporate music was.... These guys never went corporate...so we never heard them on the corporate radios....the greatest music NEVER HEARD....

I grew up in St. Louis so I had K-SHE. I heard this stuff all the time. I honestly thought Uriah Heep was much more popular than they actually were. However, they were HUGE in Continental Europe! Germany, Ugoslavia (at the time) Sweden. Countries like these kept them going all through the times when they were Luke warm in the States or even their home country of Great Britain. I have become grateful to K-SHE radio and the other album rock oriented stations in the country.

somehow reminds me of "Watcher of skies" Intro. Bought this for the Wizard and loved the rest. This here is my favorite song on the album.

There one of the greatest rock and roll bands back in the early 70s .

Born in 68. I have been paralized by the 7"s turning on the players and the LP covers shocked me in swinging city of Lübeck. Then the 80s brought them back as I was a teeny dancing to their rockballads in "bad" Segeberg where I started to make Super - 8 movies. This is excellent music coming in the state of the art sound now during covid into my ears via KZread for artists messaging. I am so glad listening to it. Thank you for this. Uriah Heep have always done their own soundtrack for the individual movie in the listeners heads, the funny german trendexpression "Kopfkino" fits to it. Hey! Rock on! thx

You not kidding.me?.... I saw these guys in 77 at reno livestock center....for Ted nudgent....they brought the house down.....Ted was just a ticket seller....I never knew till now how AMAZING this band is.....it took me 40 years to figure it out.......I'm just now starting to realize how powerful they are.....well.......its never too late.....this band is the greatest rock band ever created....its only now at 59 yrs old that I finally discovered what I missed in the 70s..... This band speaks to me..... They are pure Majick....rock, blues and classical all in one.... Who knew?.... .. pure majick..
