LYRICS:
Ah-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah, ah
Cold winds and cloudy skies
Turn to sweetness in her eyes
Fantasies, I realized
Came to life to my surprise
Rain came and took her away
Just when I thought she was here to stay
Sun gone, I was left high and dry
Love came by and touched me
And kissed me so long
Shine hard October moon
Eagle take me to her soon
Run swiftly silver stream
Find my love or let me dream
Now half of me is all of her
I'd be much happier if I were whole
All my words and wisdom fall
The poet's justice leads me to my goal
Leads me to my goal
Cold winds and cloudy skies
Turn to sweetness in her eyes
Fantasies, I realized
Came to life to my surprise
Ah-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah

Loved this tune in 1972. Still love it 2022. Bravo ⚘
I LOVE URIAH HEEP
I'm glad, saw them live 1971 in a small club in my hometown Berlin, David was so close to me, felt like a home concert, never forget this now as a 67y. "young" man ! can not understand that these great band never mentioned among Deep Purple, Led Zepp and Black Sabbath, in my opinion Heep is so much underrated, am I wrong ? thanks for uploading, keep on rockin' all true Heep fans....

Wow, what songs do you remember them playing?

I don't think people were ready for their lyrics! They were very deep. The people I knew that were into them we called heads! This was head music. People who were deep!

No you are not wrong. Strange isn't it. In those days people believed what the New Musical Express and Melody Maker told them.... a form of brain washing i suppose. Rock on Heep !
Cold wind and cloudy skiiiiiiiies
This song is probably the best example of the power of the album. The music pounds heavily but is never grungy. The opening and ending take to flight like a rocket.
"rains came and took her away" pops in my head once in awhile.
The lead break at 3:04 is what got me hooked on this group!
Sweet and Queen were definitely taking notice of Uriah Heep's vocal harmonies.

Or maybe Heep took notice of the Beach Boys. Vocal harmonies were nothing new at that point.
Gracias por compartir saludos desde ECATEPEC MÉXICO...estoy esperando para oír este GRUPAZO 👌. Remember circle OF hands.🎶🎶
What a great bass line from the excellent Gary Thain ❤
Vocal layering, as well as David and Ken singing the lines together, is just stunning and brilliant.

Uriah Heep are a special band to MANY . We Heep fans hear the wide pallet of sonic sweetness . If you don't like this band than please try a GOOD turntable .....a good 60's /70' stereo amp........ head phones...some vinyl of UH LIVE "73" . After that . Your a Heep fan . Unless you have passed . Just saying.........

Hurum
The three big English hard rock/heavy metal bands of the 70s were Zeppelin, Sabbath and Purple. A big four from that period Heep would be at this club. Frankly, David Byron was as good as Plant or Gillan. Much better than Ozzy. Ozzy is a joke. Hillarious guy and great frontman for sure. But terrible voice.
