British hard rock legends Uriah Heep are one of the “big four” rock bands, along with Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, and certainly one of the most intriguing bands both musically and lyrically, to emerge from heavy rock.
Evoking an era when prog, hard rock and heavy metal co-existed in an era of glorious, boundary-breaking music, Uriah Heep rose from inexperienced studio musicians with everything to prove to bona fide limo inhabiting rock stars.
After selling over 40 million albums worldwide, over the years Uriah Heep have influenced many different metal bands around the globe, among the most popular being Dio. Bands including A-ha, King Diamond, Krokus, Demons & Wizards, Fifth Angel and Axel Rudi Pell have all cited Uriah Heep as a band of personal influence, while W.A.S.P and Tesla have covered the band’s songs.

I got the pleasure of seeing Saxon and Uriah Heep here in Kentucky this past April. My pops got me into Uriah Heep, and I think the best part of that concert was seeing the biggest grin on his face that I've ever seen. I've been listening to the Heep for the past 3 years with him. To hear Mick, Bernie Shaw, and the rest of the Heep was a blessing upon my ears.

WOW, what an unexpected treat and surprise. I never thought I’d hear Uriah Heep playing slide and doing Blues/Rock. I freakin’ LOVE it!!! Actually, this whole album has been an unexpected treat and surprise. In High School, my Uriah Heep listening was limited to what I’d heard on the radio, so basically, “Demons and Wizards” and “Sweet Freedom”. I honestly didn’t even know they had put anything out until I pulled up their discography on KZread, which was the first time I’d heard ANYTHING from “Look at Yourself” and now I think it blows away the others. This album would have been in constant rotation, along with Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, had I heard it in High School.

I'm French and as you might now, Lorraine is a Region in eastern France, which in the 70's was mostly famous for its heavy steel industry, coal mines etc. and as I was 13 at the time I discovered Uriah Heep and loved that song, i always wondered why the band found Lorraine so sweet... Later, I learned English and also discovered that Lorraine had much more to offer than just factories and power plants.. ( which anyway since that time almost fully disappeared).
I'm infatuated with French culture especially the women.

Last time I saw one of my schoolmates she asked me if I remember this song we were singing at schooltime.I didn't hear again about her.Knowing her sick after a hard life and many of pains she had but didn't speak out at thst time only grown up she talked about.

I'm 30, so kinda in between the old geezers and the newer gen. Millenial so you know, right before Gen Z/Zoomers. And this is probably my favorite Uriah Heep album. Besides it being an absolute banger, I also love it cause I have "Demons and Wizards" on Vinyl. Got that and dozens more, all from my dad. We like to smoke a bowl and put on some cool albums and chill out. Some great memories I've been making with my dad!
