Urban Stealth Camping Behind Warehouse

I found a beautiful camping spot in a thin strip of trees between a warehouse and a rail line. This week I camped with my hammock because the trees were spaced perfectly and there was lots of open room. The warehouse was mostly vacant and for lease so there was very little traffic in the area. I whipped up some pulled pork sandwiches for dinner and hunkered down for a very cozy, albeit noisy sleep.

I've been debating whether or not to comment. But I lost my dad two years ago, and the youtube algorithm blessed me with a video of yours from six months ago and you look so much like him that I literally felt my heart drop. I've been watching a ton of your videos and it feels just like having him around again - camping, drinking a beer, and generally just enjoying life. Thanks for making nice videos.

That's so sweet. I think I kind of feel the same way. My Father is still with us but I haven't heard from him in years and I wouldn't be the Nature Boy I am today without him. Although we are distant as can be now, I feel a strong connection here. You should watch his Boondocking Doc. It is awesome.

Thank you guys, I'm sorry but also sort of happy to hear that I'm not alone in finding such a specific kind of happiness in Steve's videos. My dad loved camping. He ended up buying an RV and living out of it so he could travel around a little bit. He loved being out in the rockies and just enjoying his time with a few beers and a few buddies.

I used to do something similar but in my car growing up lmao! I used to get kicked out of my house often so I'd always hang out with friends at car meets and shows etc. in the evenings and then go and "scope out" a stealth camping spot for my car and I to sleep. Any of my friends would have let me stay with them in a heart beat but I didn't want to impose and to be honest I always enjoyed the adventure of sleeping in my cars. Always be watching for security, people milling about, evidence of others left behind, similar to what you do. Didn't want a spot too remote as I didn't want any trouble with people messing with my car but not too populated as to draw attention. One of the most memorable nights, I posted up behind a warehouse by myself and woke up to 5 or 6 semi trucks around my car. When I crawled out of my car they all were sitting around a mini BBQ making sausages and stuff and they looked at me and said "long night eh? Want some breakfast?" So I sat with them and had some bacon and sausage. It was super fun. Not sure how I stumbled upon your videos but they are fun to watch! Brings back memories.

I used to work in a warehouse in an industrial park, that was open 24/5, and once it got dark, the idea that anyone inside would pay _any_ attention to anything going on beyond the fence and the truck yard, was always a complete non-starter.

I was thinking the same thing, nobody pays attention to anything more than 5 inches in front of their face especially while working so the odds of an employee becoming alarmed by someone walking around the perimeter I'd say are next to none unless your by like a high profile warehouse or something lol. Just stumbled upon this channel now. How it has evaded me until now I have no idea. But I used to do this when I was MUCH younger and found that when scouting out places it was always a good idea to take an old dog leash with me. This way if anyone ever questioned what I was doing there (and they did) I would tell them my dog got off leash and I saw it run in this direction. 9 times out of 10 they'd tell me to go ahead and look but to hurry up. If I was hassled I rarely went back but this gave me a good idea of how much attention they paid. Oddly enough I still instinctively keep an eye out for places like this and have a park nearby with some amazing potential.

Honestly I think he worries about the cops more than necessary, he'd get trespassing which is a misdemeanor. Show them the channel and they'll likely forget the whole thing. Police in Canada are generally cool. Heck, the lack of any litter might impress them.

@@mikeoxsbigg1 I believe it’s more of an embarrassing feeling for him if he were to get caught. Not necessarily punishment or consequences. Since they would just tell him to move on 9/10 times (that’s if they didn’t just let him stay)
