For just 170.000€ more I would go for the Patek Philippe 5270P (salmon dial), which is very similar.

I really appreciated your thoughts. I was able to see a Datora in person and despite the thickness, I was very impressed. It was nice to see one of their new models that actually looked how it appeared online. The dial looks great! Although It would have been nice if Breitling could have modified one of their in-house movements, I would assume that a modified 7750 will be reliable in the long run? I would love to see a review on the Premier B09 Chrono 40 Pistachio. I really like it but I was hoping that the colour of the dial and strap would be similar to how it appears online (similar to the Datora) but in reality when I saw it in person, it was a bit of a disappointment…..I was really expecting more in it’s appearance. Keep up the great work and stay well 👍

I actually bought the blue dial. A split chronograph is useful when you like racing at the event. Tim Mosso explained how to use one in that application in his review of the navitimer B03. The Premier is more wearable than the 45mm B03.

The blue dial is the wiser choice. Visually I want the salmon but the split in steel is a... steal I guess. Being based off the B01/03 is a great advantage too.

Beautiful! I'd take that salmon dial without hesitation. If CVC's engineering a turnaround, it's for ultimate the benefit of the brand, which should allow them to exit handsomely. Collectors should also enjoy increased 2nd hand prices on resale, too.

IWC makes a pilot split chronograph in ceratanium. It’s 2mm bigger, but lighter and will never scratch...however it’s not a dress watch under any circumstance. Toto Wolf wears one...pounds the table with that arm too.

If Breitling made the pistachio watch with a salmon dial I would be on it immediately. Love the watches especially the hyper complication salmon dial thingy. They are not so expensive on Chrono24 by the way. Very thick but in a way that is very cool.

Breitling made these kind of Watch complications and Dial Colors back in the 30's and 40's. So that ends the'' its a cheap Patek copy" argument

I am not a Breitling fan, but the premier collection in general is very nice. Without these additional complications, the standard chronographs are 13,65 mm thick. To me they are superior to Tudor Black Bay Chronographs panda/reverse panda. On the secondary used market they are practically the same price as well.

Where did you get to see them? I just went to the Breitling boutique in Entertainment Building after lunch today but they told me they haven't received any of them yet. Only had a few (non functioning) prototypes circulating between Breitling boutiques and a few real ones for customers who had paid a deposit on them already. Told me they'd receive them end of May or early June.

I love the Datora and think it is appropriately priced but I am not sure I would buy one though. I am not fond of watch winders and think setting it will be quite a hassle if I do not wear it frequently enough. The copper color isn't exactly my taste or versatile but it is very unique indeed

Actually it’s one of the most user friendly ones as the date and moon are set with the crown. Only the date uses pushers but that’s easy to set.

They are nice and great to see Breitling make something apart from Navy SEALalike replicas. I like the calendar and it's a bit warmer (if not in the same league of movement) than the JLC MCCC. But, why the boggo 7750 base - all a bit Longines (except they'd charge

I agree or at least I’d like a proper explanation from the watchmakers of how the watch came together. I know they strive for reliability and durability which probably means a bit more thickness, also it’s automatic and has proper water resistance. The market will find the right price point eventually. Right now the boutiques have the pieces and try to sell at full price but eventually dealers will be able to offer better prices. I love the Datora but the Duograph is probably more significant. Note that the Datora has a unique adjustment of the date and moon with the crown which is infinitely better than what Patek offers at 10x the price.

Nice wrist shots and good discussion. But would have been nice to have some shots of the movements. Your video at least clearly made me see that the split second is waaaay too thick. And this is all the less forgivable that it is a manual movement... this shows a lack of refinement. The split second is just a module slapped onto a base caliber, with no integration effort nor much worry for the end result. The Datograph looks much better on the wrist but, as you very rightly point out, it s basically an ETA movement... this all unfortunately feels like it stems from the ownership issue you discuss: a soulless finance conglomerate that wants to make a quick return and so basically compromises the hell out of a project so they can just get by in giving the appearance of catering to a specific demographic. These watches just make me lust even more for the Pateks...

I still quite like them, the lug-to-lug isn’t dramatic and the split second makes sense at the price point given the price tag of a PP 5370. Hell, if you’d ask Patek for a steel version they’d charge double.

@@UptickWatchReviews OK but, just because they are more affordable than the Patek doesn't mean I have to ignore the thickness of this watches. In one way or another it feels like I have been deceived with pictures not being accurate with the product, if you like it, good for you, enjoy it in full health, for me it's a big NO. I really was thinking in purchasing one maybe it's why I am so desappoint it.

Nice watches, but shitters ultimately and you know it. I highly think you should just save up and buy a true high horology watch that you actually want instead of setting like you did with tudor pepsi, zenith daytona and now this. That tudor pepsi and zenith daytona makes up for big portion of a real pepsi that you know you actually want instead of settling for instant fixes. No disrespect though, love the content just my 2 cents
