This and the pistachio dial are both absolutely beautiful. More than anything, I think they show that there's more to Breitling than the Navitimer and Super Ocean. If you do pull the trigger on this, enjoy!

Bruce, this is a fantastic timepiece, great look, moon phase, many complications, tastily done, … I understand how it would be a grail watch. I actually love it myself and would not mind adding one someday to my collection (currently adding Rolex and Breguet). Go for it!

That is a beautiful watch. I tried one on a couple of months ago at my AD. Pictures and video don’t do it justice. It’s absolutely stunning in person. The copper dial is gorgeous.

As a professional watchmaker here, I love your video and I know exactly where you are coming from. I like hidden gem. I will tell you what is my all time favourite is, it's Universal Genève Tri-compax. The most underrated watches all time. Still top ten brand swiss made. Heck, I find the parts incredible difficult to find. the watch was made in the 1930's, old school watchmakers are long gone, it's very very rare and sadly I have to force myself to make some parts Universal Genève watches.

For me, it’s not about the retained value so I say go for it. It’s a watch, if you love it, wear it.

Then again... if you're a penny pincher like me... it's easily found for around $9k in the secondary market. And you know it's not going to decrease in value as word spreads.

Agreed with this is piece I tried on yesterday when receiving my grail watch : explorer II polar dial. Quite big but ok for a 17cm wrist size. 4 years of calendar. Very nice one! May be redundant with my humble oris big crown complication (2004)

Love it. Triple-dates helped get me into watches in the 90s, and I love the moon phase too. I do think you meant 40% off if you’re hoping to get it and the bracelet under 10 though…. Worth it for sure!

Watch is absolutely gorgeous. 5 link Breitling bracelet is gorgeous. Put the two together...yeah steep price but what a timepiece.

It is an amazing watch, and relatively speaking an amazing value. When you compare that to a JLC Master Control or my personal true grail the Patek 5270p you really realize how much watch for the money you are getting. I have not pulled the trigger on it yet with one of the main reasons being it looks so much like like 5270p it is kind of in homage territory, but I am probably 20 years from being in a position to own the Patek responsibility. That is a long time to wait when this is available from a Brand like Breitling.

I tried this watch at an AD and it is very very good. Loved the pusher actuation.

For example, the Duograph is a rattrapante for ~$10K - how is no one talking about what an amazing accomplishment that is?! To get into a rattrapante, you’d need to spend six figures…

Completely agree. Split second chronograph but in red gold, black dial combo for less than £16k. Absolute bargain vs say a stainless Rolex!

Absoloutely! I own a Navitimer Rattrapante ($11K) and it's a spectacular piece... I think Breitling is an amazing brand and even more so under Kern. I hope it will attract more attention and love in foreseeable future.

Love this piece. It was going to be my 'breitling watch' but ended up getting a Navitimer because...well it's a Navitimer. Breitling is a brand that has really come a long way recently. I've always been a big fan of the brand even when they became abit tacky which they have corrected - Wish they would have kept the Wings though. There's the 'holy trinity' of watches but the "name brand Mount Rushmore" to most people I think would be Rolex/Cartier/Omega/Breitling.

Reminds me of a salmon dialled doxa triple calender chronograph from the 1950s, which I sold last year. Obviously that was a smaller watch , but was lovely. I don't think it should be on a bracelet though, it's meant to be on the crocodile/ alligator strap. That bracelet is too flashy to really look right. But each to their own Bruce.

It is a nice classically designed complete calendar. I’m seeing the 1940s vibe and you gotta get an aloha short to wear it with.

Hi Bruce, speaking of details on the dial, did you notice that the 2 faces of the moon are different!? One has its eyes closed and the other one open.

It's a beautiful watch. Personally, I think it suits that strap perfectly. I don't really think it's overpriced for what you're getting.

Beautiful watch that catched my attention a couple of days ago. Have to Put it on the wrist, as soon as i see it. Breitling is way overpriced though. In my opinion they should change there price Marketing. Thats what i love about Rolex. You get what you pay for at retail without discount and have even more. You can save up to 30% and more on Breitling online. Really a good Brand?

Very cool piece, BUT it's a Breitling! (Before I get called a watch snob, I do have own a B01 Premier and a Navitimer). I am a buyer at a DEEP discount. This is a good Patek clone...

I was really struck by this piece when it was released. Its truely stunning.I just wish 2 mm could be shaved off both the diameter and thickness.Back in the 1950s when the machining technology wasnt as good as today the Swiss watch industry was turning out relatively thin 36 mm chronographs and calendar watches.Whenever the CEOs start making excuses for why a watch is chunky they always say " well the movement is such and such thick" ,like they are incapable of making movements as thin as those made 70 years ago.I dont get it.

As much as I agree with you, there is a very simple explanation for modern chronograph movement thickness. The thin 36 mm chronos from the 50's to late 70's where all manual wind, modern are automatic...

@@marvinberwart Yes true.However Hamilton recently released a manual wind chronograph that was almost as thick as their automatic version.I think it was the intramatic.I know the non in house brands are constrained by the dimensions of the Valjoux 7750.

So many things I love about this piece and so many others that are ruined for me by cut off Arabic indices.

If only they came out with a blue dial I would be all over this 😢

Stunning watch that truly belongs on a leather strap. Don’t ruin it by putting it on a bracelet, keep at least one of your watches on a strap.
