Lady is a wonderful mare and mother to her new foal. A good mare's natural instinct takes over to protect her new born foal from predators in the pastures. Lady knows its okay for Jim to handle her foal because she knows and trust Jim who is her caregiver and great horseman.

Oh girls…I pray your wish comes true because that would be just awesome for Jim…and us! I think 100,000 would grant us an extra video maybe and I am up for that. You know Abby, I had forgotten that’s where Bree got her name. I so remember the grandbabies naming her but the rest just left me. I gave some suggestions but I’m really alright with any name as long as Lady settles in and shares her new filly with us a little more up close and personal. Trudy, you made me chuckle a bit because I’m thinking you left the farm life ways behind when you left the nest. Just an observation is all. Thanks for the extra visit and soon Abby you will be in your new home and a kitty…or two could come nest with you, yes?!!!:):):)

Being lifelong farm daughters of the best Dad in the world, you missed the lesson on restricting livestock pasture escape. Abby, thank you for explaining where the name Hwin comes from. I knew it was a book but didn't know it was from C.S. Lewis. That would be a nice name for the filly. FYI, there is also a horse on KZread named Hwin that is somewhat famous. She is a gray Mustang mare owned by Elisa Wallace of Elisa Wallace Eventing. Elisa trained and competed with her in the Mustang Million Makeover and then purchased her at auction after the competition. Elisa has competed with her in Three-day Eventing as well as other Mustang competitions. This talented Mustang mare named Hwin learned jumping and some advanced Dressage moves in less than 100 days under saddle. Breyer even released a model horse in her likeness.

Remember the times going looking for the horses at meal time at night time We had 6 draft horses at one time We always had 2 that would never come with the rest of the other horses

So much cuteness 😊

As I get older and more laid back I find chasing horses is too much effort. Mine eat their grain out of rubber buckets and if I ever need a horse I can just walk out with a bucket in hand, give a whistle and let them see the bucket. It becomes a migration en masse towards me and the bucket... Thanks for the update!

Almost 50 years ago, I had bought my first weanling foal and had him at a boarding facility. Another woman also had one so that facility put them next to each other for company. Unfortunately, that owner kept the halter on. Apparently during one night, they had to have been playing across the fence and the other weanling's halter caught on the upright on the pole fencing. When the facility owners discovered him, he was already dead. Ever since then, I've warned others about leaving halters on loose horses. Most are shocked to find that accidents like that can happen. It may not happen often, but, as far as I'm concerned, one time is one too many. So thank you for explaining why you don't. You may never know how many accidents you have prevented with this video. Just discovered your channel. Subscribed.

The best name for the Foal , that I have seen mentioned by others , is , June !

You ladies need to bring a bucket with some pellets or grain to entice the horses to you. If you feed them they will come…? Remember that the you two women are unfamiliar to the horses so they might think that you are strangers. I suspect they might respond to William differently as he works with them every day.

Jim's horses can lie down , plus are watered 4 times per day plus water tanks in pasture plus paddock.. So conclusion , tie stalls are plenty big plus no thirsty horses on Jim and Brenda's farm . 100kbYahoo 😊😊😊
