Brit calls it the "Brittney Choir" where she layers it so she can harmonize with herself. She can do some opera too! She has a video out there doing Brindisi with Lords of the Trident. It's pretty awesome. And for a better idea of her range, check out Tonight We Ride. The guy doing the growls is Grant Truesdell...one of the guitarists.

Yes! Metal Opera on Skype! The one with Brittany is what led me to Lords of the Trident, who are also a super talented, if less well-known, band. Fang has a fabulous voice in his own right and did a whole series of metal opera duets that are well worth the watch. I would love to see Maggie's reaction to that whole series, especially since opera is something she is very familiar with, so she can focus on the technique and talent. Also metal opera is amazing.

Brittney can do it live... She is... truly ... among the few ... who really can produce what you hear. She does layer herself in recordings... and I love it. She calls it her Choir - I am sure others will point this out. Live she produces the real deal. I have a few others I recognize that are able to do the same - Tatiana from Jinjer, Fabienne from Eluveitie, Floor - well everyone today knows Floor... If they don't, don't let the Floor hit them on the way out...(Floor is MY favorite). There are others who sing and I love them, but this is my short list. Simone should be on the list too...

They don't autotune, they only layer. Brittney is a university trained vocal performer herself (also opera I believe) with an incredible range. This song doesn't even show it all, as others have pointed out. Many rockers/metal singers with powerful voices were trained in other musical styles first, and it shows.

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! AWAKENING To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die Come to me, awakening Follow my voice, come to me Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never Lighting my way in the night To roam; to never die

There's a video of her singing some opera out there you might be interested to check out. Also in a very recent stream of her and the band doing a hot ones style Q and A she was asked what would be her dream venue to perform at and she mentioned the metropolitan in New York before later noting it's an opera venue and saying for the band saying probably Madison square garden. My point being idk her history of formal music training but she very much holds a place in her heart for operatic singing and performing despite being a badass metal vocalist which I thought you might find it interesting to know.
