This is one of those bands/songs that pretty much all reactors get requested (like Nightwish and Jinjer) They're all superb musicians and charming geeks. A couple members are very active on Twitch. Great band, they have new music coming out soon. Great reaction too!

There's another group that combines male and female vocals. Their name is Lacuna Coil they are out of Italy but Nightwish will do it too. Their former bassist and the ladies of the band will sing together on a few songs.

I discovered them via another channel reacting to this video and was blown away... saw in the comments that this is the opening track to a concept album called Apex about "The Immortal" and that the follow up album Abyss had just been released. I did the only sensible thing and immediately ordered both albums on vinyl and avoided any songs from those albums until I could sit down and listen to both albums back to back with a nice glass of rum in one hand and the lyrics sheets in the other... and it was glorious. 2 albums of straight bangers!

Always great to see musicians enjoying some UTA. Usually, I recommend Tonight We Ride next to hear Brittney's even crazier vocal lines, yet for your focus on the musicianship, I'd jump to their latest album to hear how their music evolved a bit and still hear a banger with the song Soulbound.

The entire band is absolutely unbelievable and just plain amazing people on top of that. If you ever do another reaction I might as well jump in here quick and suggest Tonight We Ride from their album Time Stands Still, or alternately, General of the Dark Army from the album Demons of the AstroWaste, which is another concept album they did! Anyway awesome reaction, love the response to Nikko 😂 sadly he's not in the band anymore but the (sorta) new bassist Nick Miller is just spectacular. Hope you do another! ✌🧡🤘

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME! AWAKENING To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die Come to me, awakening Follow my voice, come to me Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night Once again revitalized, to roam; to never Lighting my way in the night To roam; to never die

If you have not seen them, Beast In Black is worth a reaction, particularly "Blind & Frozen". They have been described as a "Greco-Finnish camp pop-dance power-metal band" which is to say that they are huge fun. The vocalist is capable of singing both parts of a duet... it's an eye opener. Also the video is nicely produced. kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZIJo1rqfY6jUo9o.html&pp=ygUfYmxpbmQgYW5kIGZyb3plbiBiZWFzdCBpbiBibGFjaw%3D%3D

Their last two albums have been concept albums with a full story spanning both. They utilize each vocalist for different parts so in this song Brittany is the hero aka "The Immortal" and Grant's growls are the villain "The Matriarch" calling to him. The whole thing is insane but so, so good. Their other guitarist provides cleans for other characters. They're essentially 5 D&D nerds writing incredible power metal.

The layering of background vocal tracks is what Brittney calls the "Brittney Choir", all her. She said if she wasn't doing this she probably would have been an opera singer and there's a video out there of her singing opera and killing it. There's another of her doing karaoke in a bar in Edenburgh, Scotland after having just done a full show singing Queensryche's "Queen of the Reich". I doubt anyone was wanting to step up to the mic after she was done LOL.

I also am from your area, part of year... Entire ABYSS album is great, but a bit different than APEX, whicg AWAKENING is from. Someday, I hope you react to one of UTA's variant tracks, one of my goto listens, called LEGACY...BUT others will surely suggest SOULBOUND, APEX, ABYSS (which I suggest you couple with the preceeding first track, waking dreams (good segway into Abyss), TONIGHT WE RIDE, CLEANSE THE BLOODLINES, or other. Being a Symphonic Metal fan, ala WITHIN TEMPTATION, DELAIN, and others, I had shyed away from power metal, but Brittney Hayes (her birth name) made it approachable for me. Love UTA now, and also have found FROZEN CROWN, from Milan Italy, also female power fronted and great dual guitar play, with a young.female guitarist, and very young excellent power drummer, who is also a jazz fan. AND, THEIR NEWEST album, from March 2023, is ALL so very good, and also varies in texturt and light to dark sonics. Suggest FIRE IN THE SKY, for bright, or BLACK HEART, for dark.
