Unique Geocache - "Bobby"
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Our thought was that it might be fun for geocachers to play a little game using some familiar American pop culture. So far it's been a hoot!
How about you? Would you have gotten it on the 2nd try??

I love this cache! I sure wish I lived in your area so I could experience them first hand. That is a really cool idea. You guys are very imaginative! Well done!
We considered that option, since geocaching com defines the puzzle cache type as "the staging ground for new and unique geocaches that do not fit in another category." But since there was no puzzle to solve to actually find GZ - and no puzzle required to open the big box (or the little ones), we elected to post it as a traditional. But thanks for your question.
You think of the most AWESOME ideas for Caches. You have blown 35mm Film Canisters to the MOON!
I saw your reply back in regards to rxsherm comments screws vs straps. I just had the most difficult review approval process to cache placement, for when I mentioned the container was going to be on a tree, I was reprimanded. as such" We as Geocachers are friendly to the environment no screws allowed". I agree with your comment about the healing and strangling of by straps. But I attached the container with zip cords with the thoughts of just that. I guess I will constantly be maintaining it.
A screw or two which barely penetrate the outer layers of bark do much less damage than a strap which will eventually impede a tree's growth and strangle its nutrient supply. A healthy tree will grow around a screw, healing the "wound" all by itself. Anyway, thanks for watching!
I love this! Of course we don't know that particular TV show over here in England but it's such a fun geocache! :-)
@Jenifer13091976 We did have some trouble with caches being stolen or vandalized, so we changed most of our hides to premium only. Haven't had a problem since. Thanks for watching (and for the compliment!)!
Those who were old enough to know the TV show enjoyed figuring it out! Those who were younger just kept at it until they found it and they seemed to enjoy that too! But thanks for the input!
Wow you guys make the most amazing caches!
Love this one, what a fun cache!
Wow, thanks for the great compliments!
That is so awesome! Lol love it.
One good thing is that I live close by this cache so I can do the maintenance when needed, even though I do not agree with they way they asked me to attach it. Ironic how even the US Forest Service in the Chattahoochee National forest attaches their tree tags by nails. I guess this topic needs a forum. :)
Very great fun caches. I compliment you! As I am only 30, I was not familiar with the TV show. I was familiar with the intro song with video on KZread which had the layout. Maybe you should give the question hanging a last initial "B."...?
Yes, we have seen many geocaches out there that were screwed to trees, and a few that were strapped with zip cords. We very much doubt that the folks who used zip cords go check on the growth to make sure their cords are not damaging the tree. Though we know the arguments against the use of screws, we disagree. Unless a tree is extremely young, extremely old, or in poor health for some reason, a few screws are not going to cause it permanent damage.
Very awesome!!
Thank you! What a nice compliment. :D
Its classed as a "Field Puzzle". So that's a Traditional Cache with Field Puzzle Attribute.
Love it!
A good twist to your Brady Bunch cache is... What happen to Oliver?
Very cool. You guys have some nice ones. Also... 1ST!
cool idea
Thanks!!
Awesome! Do you have any problems with your caches being muggled?
@nicholasmodonnell Hey thanks! And wow, wtg for that 1st!
So funny!
@twish1999 Thanks! (It's a silly TV show from the early 70's!!)
@MarcBruyere69 Thank you!
@malimaniacs It's not a spoiler if we don't tell where it is. And we don't.
@TimmiTification Thanks, Tim.
Haha awesome
Was this on labeled as a puzzle due to having to solve a puzzle to open it?
Nice
@adonicamae Thank you!
@brinelson25 Thanks!!
Where do u live? as in state
10 points on originality, but why spoil your own cache's ?
Sorry to see this one was ruined
