Union Thug EXPOSED- Bill Shorten Interview

Комедия

Finally. Sat down with the man, the myth the legend. Sir Shorten. Let me tell ya CLASS ACT. Honestly can't say a bad word about the guy. Intelligent, humble and I think one of the funniest men I've ever met in my life! Seriously the guy should be on have you been paying attention he's quick! Anyway I think you see a different side of him as to what is portrayed in the Lame Scheme Media! He's a great man, excellent role and genuinely motived by helping others.

This is why Australia is so damn screwed I learned more about Shorten in the last 20mins than I did for all the time he spent as opposition leader. The Murdoch empire made damn sure no one could ever see what Shorten was about. Also Jordan is getting better at interviews he's not bouncing as much but does still dip into his characters which throws off the interviewee, and Shorten's statement "Am I just a mirror for you" probably helped calm the interview down a bit. That's the downside Jordan is such a great thinker and has the great questions and prompting to get better answers and we desperately need that but everyone is so used to sanitized journalists so when he tangents off he distracts the interviewee from their train of thought and loses the moment.

@Politics Fan ooooooh I have met Shorten on several occasions and have a pretty low regard for him. Certainly he's NOT a Keating or a Rudd, but even I though your unproven allegations was harsh, and probably libellously so. I dislike Porter even more so, but would be genuinely concerned about the torture he's be going through right now....except that as an AG he showed little similar regard for others on matters of character of a far less personal nature. Even Brandis didn't try to make his bones of matters that reflect protecting a false depiction of the national character most right thinking Aussies would not like to be represented by.

@@O1OO1O1 don't be cynical / cultivate hope it's semantics, the idea is the same. I actually see it as a deeply philosophical stance. They obviously understand why people are cynical. "They" being people like Shorten, Rudd, Ludlam, Chomsky, Assange, Snowden, Martin, etc, they themselves, I am sure feel cynical on a regular basis, they fully comprehend, and better than any of us do, the beast that they are up against, but then choose to continue on with the good fight. I think that is in a sense heroic. To know you may, in fact, more than likely will not win in your lifetime but choose to keep fighting anyway. I often think of Noam Chomsky, he spent his entire life criticising the US empire, for no personal gain, simply because he believed it's the right thing to do and felt a personal responsibility. The man is on the brink of death and is still talking about and trying to educate the public on important issues.

Ill add another one to stagnant wages. The secrecy attached to salaries. People on salaries are encouraged to keep their wages to themselves. I wondered why, but ultimately, 100 people all doing the same job in the same company can have varying wages and if people figure out that others earn more than them then they want those higher wages also. The reason the wages vary could be time in the company or experience or something else but I know I've had higher salaries than others in the same organisation despite skill and time and all those other factors. Companies who pay salaries should set the parameters for salary tiers. Retail is really bad for this, a retail company could easily set up a grading system that rewards managers for time spent in the company and results and size or sales volume or staffing sizes or whatever but they don't because they can pay people working harder, less money. No more secret salaries, fuck that off.

If you measure these 2 things and pay staff on that basis, what happens? Stock gets hurriedly put out in the wrong spot, with the wrong price ticket, making it harder for customers to find what they need and know the correct price. Staff rush customers through the register instead of treating them in a way that makes them enjoy their visit and want to return. Measurable metrics can undoubtedly be useful, but basing pay and career progression predominantly on KPIs can make employees lose focus on what's important for the long term health of the business.

But believe that although the dems have the presidency the senate and congress that an unelected parlaimentarian wont let the party do what they all ran and won on and promised. We have been talking there needs to be a casual /gig workers union as these guys cannot comit to a direct debit for same amount as the Nurses, Teachers, Miners etc do there must be a way to casualise unions for these workers as they are ones who need help most how many food delivery riders died in last 12 months then there are all the carers out there getting scammed by Sharks in the NDIS and Aged Care racket. We need a renewal of the Unions for and by this generation they need to turn of Netflix come to meeting and help to build a union to suit their needs not just for themselves but those who follow. Pandemic has exposed this issue clearly; they may have got a better deal out of job keeper is all those casuals and so-called independent contractors were a Union. I was taken to union meetings in the mine from very early age do not recall not going as was and still is vital for our family we lost Grandad in mining stuff up that was preventable we go back generations in mining had 3 generations in mines until few years back so know the difference, they make still remember the very very long strikes along with lots of Rabbit always full of pellets and Roo Stew.

Thanks to these changes I don't have to suffer the same as they have had to in the past and can focus on providing care to my patients in a safe and supported manner. If people are interested please look into the ANMF union strike of the 1980s. Thank you Bill shorten for all of your work. I met my member, Matt Keogh, down at the local train station (which is one of the least used on the network) on my way to work. wasn't hardcore campaign season or anything, no press or staffers or flyers. had a decent 5 minute chat, very normal conversation you'd strike up with someone waiting for the train. except he was asking 'What issues are you concerned about?'. inviting me to bitch about the government *to the actual government* let that sink in. My federal MP was hanging out in his electorate at 6:30AM, just talking to folk, sounding the waters, getting to know his constituents. N I rate him as an interesting bloke for a chat, got some genuine answers, could absolutely have a beer with him. I've told alot of people this story, so I hope that's paid off for him in support. He's always conducted himself as a serious professional as Labor leader (rather than the "daggy dad" affectations of Scumo) due to his years of experience as a negotiator, which I believe made him seem disingenuous to many. After meeting him at a town-hall event I saw first hand how genuine he really is and the skill he possesses when dealing with people face-to-face. He would take three questions in a row from the people (taking notes) and then respond to them in turn - honestly, even if he knew the answer would displease more than a few of the crowd. That is why they resulted in such significant economic problems, they too became out of line with objective developments. They are not a solution today anymore than in the 80s. This, too, is a huge part in the collapse of the anti-Marxist Stalinist regimes (the purges in the USSR in the 30s mainly focused on the elimination of the internationalists, the genuine Marxists), which were based in ‘national self sufficiency’, Stalin’s counterrevolutionary notion that it is possible to build socialism in one country, the objective circumstances caught up with them and saw them off!

Still devastated about Bill Shorten’s loss at the last election. He would have made a great PM. Doesn’t run away from a crisis and abrogate responsibility, unlike Scott Morrison. I was surprised but happy to see Bill being interviewed on Jordan’s channel. Great interview, Jordan.

What a real eye opener to Bill Shortens' true character & extensive Union history which most peeps of my generation -mid 20's- had no clue about! Rather than the Liberal biased "Villainous scope" that the main stream media (Sky News especially) portray him as. BLOODY TOP BLOKE

As a non Australian I can’t stop being amazed at the fact that even your politicians pull off good banter. I’m pretty sure all Swedish politicians just are committees in a really long trench coat

I'm one of maybe 5 people who genuinely wanted Bill Shorten to be our Prime Minister. He'd have been one of our greats.
