Brand new archer here. Perfect timing for this video to come out. I'm going to re-watch it a couple of times. Thanks Tex.

Remember, everyone's set up is different and the way you shoot also factors in to arrow flight. You will need to shoot your arrows many times and study the way they fly in order to determine if they need to be cut or not and if you need to change the point weight or not. Only do one thing at a time and flight test (shoot) after each modification. Sneak up on it slowly. Cut 1/2 inch at a time until you get close then cut 1/4 inch at a time. You can ruin a shaft cutting too much too quickly. Take your time and study things. Once you have perfect arrow flight, write everything (bow specs and arrow specs) in a notebook for next time. There is always a next time.

In the process of figuring out my first arrow purchase. Just want a basic setup to let me safely shoot and start to figure this all out. Purchased a 58" Black Hunter recurve at 30lbs.

Wow dude you make a lot of videos! You have some serious dedication. Ever done any airgun content? The low to midrange pcp rifles are awesome these days. Some damn good springers too. Anything is available in .177 up to .510 so there's somethin for everyone. Give some a look. I got the 299 umarex origin 22 pcp at academy. Comes with a hand pump but im fixin to buy a compressor. I've put about 2200 rounds through it and is super reliable, dependable, well built, and over all It's phenomenal. 3 way adj trigger. 10 shot mags. Tune able from 700-1100 fps. 40 shots per fill at 950 fps. Can get 70-80 shots tuned down a little. Can shoot slugs and does very well. Check em out if you havent. The accuracy is silly good too. 1-3 cents a shot for pellets. Can't beat it. Dime groups at 50 yards with ease. I can shoot an empty pellet tin @85 yards every shot. It's essentially a silenced 22.

Once again another excellent video. The level of depth and arrow knowledge here was well earned. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Listening to your advice on arrow builds has worked perfectly. Thank you again! Oh and Tex-Do you think you could kill a raptor?

I thought this was a great and informative explanation. It might take new shooters to soak it in... Bows shoot different and you just gotta find the fit for your setup to dial it in.
