The chicken is actually called 叫花鸡 or beggar chicken in English and it’s wrapped normally in banana leaves, then dirt, and then tin foil. Then placed into a fire to cook and the chicken comes out like in the video, juicy, tender, and flavorful!

I think it's lotus leave, tin and then dirt. At least the one I ate when I was young was done like that! Not sure about how it was done when tin foil was not invented as it was at least 400 years ago. There is a similar dish which was invented in Zhou Dynasty and is done with piglet.

The chicken that woman was cooking was a chinese cuisine dish called "Beggar's Chicken". The origin story is that a beggar managed to cook a chicken perfectly by slathering the chicken in mud and burying it, then lighting a wood fire (in this case, a charcoal fire) over it. A local merchant smelt the cooked chicken and made a business deal with the beggar to open their own restaurant. Eventually it got popular in China and now is quite a staple dish in restaurants (they use more modern methods like this woman did, covering the chicken in lettuce and tinfoil) . I wouldn't recommend doing it in an office building unless you're as desperate as that woman...

Hello uncle roger! A Brazilian nephew here! Here in Brazil we call that toy/game that she made out of the chicken feathers “peteca”, it has origin in the Brazilian indigenous tribes

FUN FACT: cooking stuff like roast lamb and/or potatoes underground in foil very close to a campfire is actually a great way to cook, from personal experience, tastes great, would recommend (dont forget herbs tho)

She initially worked at a media company which (from what I know of the Chinese media industry) probably cut together clips from other sources and put on headlines as news. That's why she was allowed to film this series in her office, the first ever video was uploaded to the company channel. I'm not sure if she ever left and opened her own studio or if she's still at the same company, but pretty sure where ever she is, the company's biggest source of income and popularity would be from her videos now, she's one of the most well known social media stars in China.

@@arisumizuki3109 because it’s the Chinese Government.. what do you expect? They basically control the media/internet there. You can’t even access KZread or Google if you don’t have VPN, so I wouldn’t surprised if she got banned despite putting a warning on her videos.

Ah, yes, the chicken recipe's "Beggar's Chicken". "Traditionally", they wrap the chicken in lotus leaves or whatever, and use clay instead of just normal soil, but this probably... works. This is just a comedy video and pretty fake-looking, but some actual Beggar's Chicken would be cool.

Yeah the book is called 射雕英雄传 the prequel to Condor Heroes. The female content maker has been doing this kind of office video for like 10 years now. Her thing is to use things around the office to cook food or other everyday other things. All the people in the video now all work for her and are part of her production staff
