Thanks for this, I'm always interested in all forms of this record. Vinyl and/or Cd. I find myself more and more playing CDs nowadays.

Yesterday I discovered your channel looking for the different versions of "help" and I loved this video, I'm discovering versions of the albums that I didn't know about and the truth is I would buy them, but in my country it is difficult or very expensive, new subscriber!

I have all of these except the 30th! Great job........a lot of work, well done!

You need to get the 1987 HMV Limited Edition box set. The catalog number is BEA CD25/4. It came in a 12" square box with a 12 page booklet and badge and the box was numbered as was the CD cover, but not the same number on both. I bought mine on the day of issue from HMV on Oxford Street in London. The only 1987 HMV issue I couldn't get was Yellow Submarine as they produced a lot less of those and, even though I went down there on the day of issue, it was sold out. I have subsequently acquired a copy.

Despite the “consensus” of mono’s superiority, I’d rather hear the stereo in most cases. Mono tends to sound dense and it’s not always possible to hear everything in the mono mix like you can stereo. Pepper and the White Album are particularly different when comparing mono vs. stereo. The Pepper edits between the tracks on side two sound awkward compared to the stereo. It sounds like whoever edited that wasn’t experienced, but the stereo edits sound seamless. “Helter Skelter” is too short and leaves off Ringo’s yelling at the end, for some odd reason. There’s also several other things omitted in mono that make the stereo a better listen. That being said, Revolver and A Hard Day’s Night is at least as good in mono AND stereo.

Hi, thanks for watching. The 2018 remix is my go-to nowadays (the surround mix is quite an experience), but I still give the mono mix a listen every once in a while.

The photos in my 1968 first pressing are glossy right to the borders. Bear in mind, this is a UK copy, Capitol played by different rules.

thanks! that makes the Japanese mini-LPs a lot more faithful to the originals than I thought. yeah, I've seen some interesting variations of the portraits. The first thing that comes to mind was a Japanese pressing of the vinyl (80s, probably) that came with square portraits - the sides had wide white borders. I also saw ones on eBay that had mirror-reversed portraits, no idea where they were pressed.

The original album cover and 2009 CD cover was off-white.
