i agree, im actually able to source alot of these cds digitally so i dont have to worry about the groove wear and noise on vinyl, i can just have these albums in both mono and stereo in thr form of flac files for the best quality

I did not like the 1987 or 1992 CD pressing in terms of packaging or sound. I settled for it, though, and it was a long wait until 2009, but the wait was well worth it. I had no idea that 8 years later, along would come a mix that would blow just about everything out of the water. Brilliant. I don't know if I told you before, but you did such a beautiful, painstaking job on recreating the album covers for the "missing" US Capitol Albums.

Thank you and I'm glad you liked them. Re: Sgt Pepper - I remember when I first listened to it on my old home studio setup (I used to mix tracks, didn't work out as a business). It felt like watching HD for the first time after years of watching DVDs.

I bought the single and the double CD back in 2017, but I just got the big box today at discount and I gotta say, really classy. 😊 I will listen 🎧 tomorrow and watch the DVD as well.

Your slipcase set with booklet from 7.30 is representative of the original June 1987 UK release. I bought mine on June 1st in Liverpool on the day of release and it’s exactly like yours (in shrink wrap)

20:30 In regards to Penny Lane being a new 2017 mix, that’s because it’s modeled after the mono version which I think is slightly faster (pitched up) than the stereo version that the 2015 mix was modeled on. SFF was probably just a case of “ain’t broke, don’t fix”, but it is a weird choice to not remix it again since the 1+ mixes were relatively restrained, very close to the stereo originals (for better or for worse), whereas the new remixes tend to “push” the dynamics / panning further.

The very first cd had an album height skinny box with the cutouts on the back of it. I still have my Let it be longbox and one for an IRS Rem album

oh yeah, I remember the longboxes - the later versions had distinctly different designs than the first releases. I don't plan on collecting them as they're the same as 1987 masters, and they're now ridiculously overpriced.

@@stevena9305 you know, from the early days of the L.P. , and into the sixties, some Canadian pressings had the front covers printed and shipped to Canada especially if they were on smaller labels . I've had 3 different versions of some albums where like say a Party Doll album starts out with a shiny cover printed in the US with back cover and record printed and manufactured by the Compo record company of Canada with a flat reddish brown label with silver writing with a thick pressing. The next version is the whole cover and pressing made in Canada and the same thick pressing and identical stampers but the label even though the same colors has a different script with added notes "licensed from the Roulette record company USA and the front cover has a different roulette logo with no wheel. The 3rd version is all made in Canada but now it has the sixties roulette label with small writing "distributed by the Compo record company of Canada. And the pressing is a lot more flimsy and different stampers

Hi, thanks for watching. Personally, I'd say it's the 2017 remix - it's mixed using first-generation (pre-bounce) tracks and it's a lot...clearer compared to previous mixes. Also, if I remember correctly, Giles Martin said his approach with the remixes is to be as close to the mono mixes but with stereo (and surround) separation.

it's scheduled for August 5 (Revolver's anniversary). I think there was a glitch or something on youtube at the time - some of my scheduled videos went live, then went back to scheduled.
