Hi Ameriie! Have you read Turtles All The Way Down? Do you have any recommendations on books about anxiety. I watched an interview with The Breakfast Club where you spoke about your OCD/Anxiety. I have NEVER known anyone else that has dealt with something so similar to what I deal with.. "If I don't take the fork out right now, mommy's gonna' get in an accident." It would be amazing if you made a video speaking more about this.

Hi Johanna! I haven’t read it yet, though I do plan to soon. The thing is, I manage by basically tough talking myself through it, like a stern coach. “Knock it off” kind of thing. Other times, I’m like the reasonable, sweet psychologist who helps by rationalizing. So I will allow myself to create an on-the-spot “fix” to allow myself to get on with what I was doing. For instance, if turning a spout or door handle the “wrong” way could cause me to stand there and repeatedly do it, I tell myself I can walk away and erase the imbalance I just caused by leaving and then, say, swiping the air in an erasure movement. I actually do that A LOT and no one notices bc sometimes it’s just a finger or hand swipe and/or a quick blowing of the air without moving my mouth too much. It sounds strange, but since you deal with ocd/anxiety, too, you may understand how such a fix is needed. All that said, I try not to talk about it too much bc I think, for me anyway, it strengthens the problem since I can be a hyper-focused person and whatever I focus on can overtake my mind-for the good (creating music, performing, and writing) and for the bad (ocd/anxiety stuff and escalating the in-the-moment behavior). But now that you mention it, maybe I will do a video, to share what has helped me so that these particular things might help someone else. Thank you for reaching out and also for your suggestion, and just know that you aren’t alone, and that you have power, even if you can’t keep it all at bay at all times.❤️

Yes!!!!!!!!! Omg when she explained that fork example I was spooked because I used to do that growing up & I stopped because it was weird. I tried to explain it to my friends but they were like wtf. So I’ve kind of grown out of it, even though when my anxiety really kicks in I find myself resorting to doing it. Ameriie is a Pisces moon like myself and I find myself often overthinking or overwhelmed with all my ideas. I try to talk about the things that I think about with my significant other, but sometimes I feel as others are overwhelmed by my thoughts too.

Does your sister have a youtube channel? I remember you mentioning one a while ago...thanks!x
