That's a good idea. Especially the fact that from what I heard, they are the hunter that the Prethoryn Scourge talking about.

My workings theory is that this Civilization is likely what is hunting the Prethoryn Scourge and has more of these sensor hubs in other Galaxies to monitor potential harvesting locations, and to make sure nothing threatens them. Interesting to see if this will be the fourth crisis.

Perhaps! I've always assumed the hunters are not necessarily bad or evil just an incredibly powerful civilisation capable of intergalactic travel. They purge the scourge whenever possible... could be "good" guys... I'm sure we will find out sooner or later :)

Mods have tried to depict this unknown Empire Hunter such as gigastructures (The Blokkats) as the red hologran around Contingency star systems are the same in vigilis ultima. It would be most likely that this Empire Hunter created the contigency to deal with any xeno's who threaten this empire hunter. It would be cool after defeating the contingency the Empire Hunter would come towards the galaxy as the 4th Crisis. (This is just my interpitation I could be very wrong about this)

Perhaps they will be the Ultimate crisis? Something that has a rare chance of spawning after the endgame crisis?

Given how.... cylindrical, the creators of this system seem to be - makes me wonder if they're in some way connected with the Enigmatic Cache, a strange, cylindrical construct of unknown age?

Enigmatic Cache were built by the L-cluster civilization since it spawned from the L-gates

I hope it's Paradox's groundwork to introduce super-crisis in one of the future updates.

Yes, Blokkats crisis was good but not enough I think a Stellarborne level hyper crisis will give life to the Stellaris crisis.

@@hopedream11 Yeah I have used that mod but the Original Empire is decent when it comes to endgame crisis and aside from having to take over a Utopian RIngworld I say it's there but not enough.

@@nikkotan2840 There's a mod called the Eternal Empire. You could try that one. Or use the Compound from Gigastructures.

I found this event in my current game. The system is way outside the galaxy, just below the L-Cluster and I had to use Jump drive technology to reach it. And there is an excavation site at the location. Currently excavating it, so I can't wait to see what happens. But this was way beyond the year 2500, end game. This popped up at 2570+

Sadly, I think nothing? If the crisis has already spawned that is. In terms of game mechanic it just forces spawn 5 years post end game date. Maybe if you're running all 3 and not had them yet it forces the next one to come faster 🤔

@@TheRedKing Actually under the new rules, the mid/late/end game crisis almost are right on top of each other. I had the Great Khan pop, then the Unbidden popped 2 years after, and just before the Unbidden popped I had the War In Heaven pop. I was literally fighting 3 separate crisis during the same time period. I won, but it was a pain.

@@MIKEYHIPPPP Ok, well apparently you get three choices. Unless you're really wanting spoilers, it's almost like making choices when you mess around with a pre-industrial species. However the only difference is, this is a more advanced species.

Reminds me of the mass effect reaper citadel, where they built it as a hub to control the FTL hyper arrays, it even comes with a cyborg race of drones which maintains the station

They were watching the galaxy for literally 1.2 billion years, back when the Sirius system had just formed, and shortly after aerobic and photosynthetic bacteria were tamed and multicellular life originated on Earth. That’s 100 times older than the Vultaum, the earliest local spacefaring civilization the Stellaris galaxy has any surviving record of- and are evidently still running around. And have the ability to survey and contact other galaxies than their own. Truly terrifying on every level.

I'm hoping this is a reference to the Hunters the Scourge are running from. I know I've heard that the Unbidden are labeled as hunters in the data files or something, but a new crisis would be fun. Also, gameplay-wise it brings up a question to me: if you find Ultima Vigilis, can you also find a Ruined Sentry Array, and build your own? Minimum intel 100, true all-sight without any spy networks.

After completing the digsite you end up with 3 choices, 1 gives a sentry array I forget with its ruined or not. The other two choices you get a bunch of robots and or a planet. As for intel I believe multiple arrays stack so yes that would be the case :) you could also build two after defeating the contingency and getting their relic.

What would interest me, is where the fallen empires got their ship designs from, it is quite confusing, as there are some ancient destroyers in some systems that look much like escorts but an earlier and less advanced version and then I see the same fallen empire ship types in his systems probably used by their builders as well. Would love to see more content of the past of the fallen empires and what came before that and what is with their ship types.

Yeah agreed I'd really like to see them flesh out fallen empires, maybe assign them more specific identities. Different ships skins for each trait would be amazing!

Just wanted to take a moment and say your stories based on the Stellaris lore are FANTASTIC!!! I am a HUGE fan and quickly watched ever one of them in one or two nights!! I realky enjoy your report style storirs and that there is charecter continuity between them, scientists, admirals and others being named more than once is a really lovely touch that really makes the stories a lot deeper and more immesive!! Keep up the GREAT work! I'd love to hear some longer form stories basec on gamepkay but I'm well aware that is a TON of work. I fancy myself a writer of sorts so I fully understand the amount of work the story alone would be let alone the video As well, I just want to say I think you could do it and they would be grast! Anyway whatever you decide to do, thank you for all the quality entertainment you've already made!!!

Perhaps, seems odd that the hunters would use the scourge as pest control imo... I wouldn't be suprised for a crisis rework or certainly tweaks after they finish the combat reworks

It's been awhile since Ultima Vigilis was added and I still strongly believe it will be forever a Stellaris 2 teaser. Unless the idea is to add some crisis' after the crisis, but we do know Paradox is struggling really hard with "out of galaxy" interactions - With Ultimate and the L-Gates being simple examples of what they WERE able to do with the current code base.

Idk about struggle though Out of the galaxy interactions can be caused kinda easily. One of my favourite examples is one mod that adds origin where your civ is a colony from other galaxy. Besides, there are a lot of mad stuff from gigastructures and ZoFe. I think the main problem for them is that they want to save aesthetic of vanilla(which is ruined in giga and ZoFe in my opinion) and of course milk money from us through dlcs.

Mmm in what sense? Most of it is taken directly from the game. I fill in the gaps where required, as Stellaris is by its nature deliberately open ended

@@TheRedKing the first ship in the video is from the MMO Star Trek Online. The ship belongs to a race called "The Lukari" and the ship was given away as a prize. Because of the shape many players jokingly refer to it as a "dorito".

I'm unsure if it spawns 100% of the time, but it's certainly not rare... Just got to find it, often far on the outer regions of the map not connected to anything via a hyperlane. Sentry array helps greatly
