Nah, most fighters predicted Pereira to win, you are talking like Hill was the super favorite fighter for no reasons. In reality everybody knows how dangerous Pereira is and his kickboxing background. Almost everybody thought he was going to KO Hill the way he did, even more considering Hill's inactivity and the life changing injury he suffered.

Alex's short crispy hooks are most dangerous but he's thrown long meaty ones as well. And he always tries to get around the guard which ever way is open for him. There's no : " he only does this one technique this one way" There's a lot of missed subtlety in his setups. Overall he tries to wait for people to catch them clean for the most part.

Flukeatan Pereira is the luckeist fighter in the ENTIRE UFC. 🍀🎰🎲 Spedrun to a title fight he didn't deserve(fought ZERO grapplers or well rounded fighters) and then got lucky in almost every title fight ever after 1st Adesanya fight: almost gets finished in 1st round but is saved by the bell and proceeds to get his a$$ kicked across the octagon for 3.5 rounds before getting THE WORST early stoppage in UFC history(couldn't even knock Izzy down)(overrated power) 2nd Adesanya fight: Gets his glass chin cracked by pillowfisted gynosanya and sent to the shadow realm 🤣😂😸😭(hilarious) Jan fight: Gets exposed for having ZERO power(Couldn't even tickle Jan) and the Judges gift him a fradulent victory 🤥 Jiri Fight: Gets lucky again and gets the 2ND WORST early stoppage in all of UFC history over Jiri, who was still conscious and ready to fight(once again exposed for having ZERO power he could barely knock out mush brained Jiri) Hill Fight: Gets a free win + Legacy and fights the 2nd worst LHW Champion in UFC history coming off a catastrophic injuiry. Flukeatan isnt even top 100 UFC fighters ever 🚫🙅‍♂️.

No matter how many times I watch Alex how he does what he does is very deceptive to me. At first glance he looks like a guy just standing there the whole time and then makes one punch and wins. He's not super flashy or high volume, but with his little faints and foot movement amazing precision and power and always sees the opening when it's there. Overtime I've watched breakdowns buy people way more knowledgeable than me. I can see better what he's doing now

Go back and watch it in slow motion- Alex baits Hill by putting his left in his face. Hill takes the bait and pushes the left away. Alex is loading his legs AND MOST IMPORTANTLY Hill is loading his own left hand and throws it. Hill loads himself forward right into Alex's left hand.

It really is brilliant how he put Hill just where he wanted him to be, but at the same time he was maintaining his own distance. The footwork was very subtle, and it looked like Hill really had no idea of the danger. The punch didnt land flush, but the timing was beautiful. If it had of landed flush i doubt very much that Hill would be talking so much rubbish now.

You dont need a deep background in grappling anymore. Kickboxing or boxing, if you;re a better striker than grappler. That should be your base and grappling secondary. Does people forget Alex has faced the worse killers when it comes to striking. Why would he fear anybody in the UFC when it comes to striking. He is the best at kickboxing on elite level. UFC still to work on the striking. This is great for a lot of strikers. A year of MMA is all you need.
