Well rounded skill against heavyweights. A guy in lower division always has more skills than heavyweight. Yes Tom looked very skilled against slow moving ,unskilled heavyweights but that does not mean he is more skilled in general. Heavyweights does not get diverse sparring partners to sharpen their skills as the lower weightclass fighters do as there are only few skilled heavyweights and most of the general population resemble with lower weight class

Pereira by KO/TKO. Tom is solid as hell, but Alex isn't going to have to cut weight. Terrifying. On another note, it's wild how much Alex gets criticized for relying on his kickboxing. Tom has most firsts in ufcstatleader tables for any of 4050 fighters with 1,1,1,1,3,4th ahead of miller, gsp and Oliveira with 3 1sts each. 1st Shortest av fight time, 1st strike differential at 4.95, 1st for least bottom pos time and 1st least bottom pos %. He has 3rd most strikes p min and 4th for knockdowns p 15 mins. He would be 2nd for sig strike accuracy if he met threshold of 350 strikes.

We saw Alex at MW, so the idea of HW seems farfetched, but it's not, he's a natural LHW and a big one at that, the extreme thing was him making 185lbs. Done and done. He can beat Tom on the feet, but it's his grappling that's a big issue.

Calm and composed and timing, Alex has one of the best Timing which is why he is able generate so much power and Knock people out. Also Alex knock downs mostly comes from counter attacks, which makes his punch more powerfull, as almost half of the power comes from opponent n Alex added enough force to knock the opponent down. 😬✌️👍👊👌👍✌️

I'm heavyweight there are two absolute people who would destroy jones and that's Tom aspinall and sergei pavlovich, jones would simply wrestle pereira so hard he'd grab hold of poatan, hold his body on his shoulder and give him a little pat on the back if you know what I mean.

Poaton literally came out just days ago and has actually 2 broken toes, had 1 before the Hill fight, then broke a 2nd in the fight. He’s not fighting on 301 at all, Henry must of made this before it released or something. Never happening, plus Alex said if he wasn’t injured, it might’ve worked but that he’s injured and he wants to keep his division moving, fighting every 3-4 months.

Looks like ccc sees stats for first time. UFC Statleader tables show Tom is top out of all 4050 fighters for first positions in their 32 tables with 1,1,1,1,3,4 in skill tables. He has best striking diff, shortest average fight time, least bottom position time, least bottom position %. He has 3rd best strike p minute, 4th most knockdowns p 15 min. In equal 2nd are gsp, Oliveira and Jim miller with 3 1st positions each. Tom with shortest av fight and best differential at 4.95 gets less strikes p strike given than any fighter in last 30 yrs. His lack of lateral mat backwards is therefore slightly partly irrelevant . Pav only got one clean punch and after that couldn’t land because of outstanding movement. Toms head movement evasions saw no more strikes absorbed. Watch his other fights - speed and movement. Pereira is in one statleader top ten table at 62.8% for sig strike accuracy. Tom wd be 2nd at 67% if he met 350 strike threshold.
