Definitely, and Morrison has referenced Fairbairn's techniques as an example of pure combatives more than once. And that's good because Fairbairn's approach was born of having to survive a very dangerous, violent work environment in Shanghai, initially - he then used the same techniques and ones specifically developed to teach SOE (and, from that, OSS) trainees during the Second World War. All the while looking like a wiry short sighted bank manager... ...but if you ever see a photo of him, look at his eyes. You'll see it there. Meantime, I think Morrison evidently Knows His Sh*t. Again, he's had to learn, develop and use this in the real world.

Eric Graham VERY IMPRESSIVE. I believed from your other comments that you had in fact trained with him. I concur. I first came across Lee awhile back when Kelly McCann introduced him and then I was HOOKED! I've since invested in COUNTLESS numbers of DVDs, courses and now online modules. I train RELIGIOUSLY on my own as it is difficult to find a training partner. I've YET to have the PRIVILEGE of attending a seminar. I told my wife if we hit the lottery we're moving to the UK for a year.

While living in Asia for 25 years, mostly in Singapore I trained Iron Hand in the Shuang Lim Temple. I personally was training back of hand, knuckles and inside wrist/hand while another student studied Iron Palm and could break marble tables with it and after 4 years and the similar Lee’s full power slap became one of the quickest and deadliest palm strikes I have ever personally witnessed. Therefore, your own hands which you mention are thick and big would/could have similar effects. Training the palm takes time as there are a lot of sensitive tissues and nerves in the hand and soaking the hands in hot Chinese oil/balms and then heating over hot charcoal after training is absolutely imperative so as not to have long term injuries to the sub-structures of the hand. We only used our predominant hands for such training, odd as this sounds, with one large hand, but the other was mainly, but not always, used for ripping, grabbing, pulling and holding, training with sand filled jars, but now I’m back west I have round weighted bags of differing weights bought from Amazon, after watching Lee Morrison’s video on traing grip strength.

I watch a lot of these and I can attest to the veracity of the observations. I know from experience Lee speaks truth about several of these circumstances, it only makes sense he is sincere about the rest. Thankfully I haven't dealt with the other types of situations in life but if I'm gonna be prepared I can think of no better teacher.

This guy gives credit to other people as he did here, but there is no one like him. The reason is this: He is not just throwing punches , elbows and so on. In reality he actually has Masters degree level knowledge of criminal psychology, physiology, anatomy. I am an alpha male that finds it very difficult to say much good about any other guy :). Lee is a professor of violence. No BS. Just using the only title that fits.

A good way to practice and feel the full force of this technique is to slap the back of the shoulder or the chest. The angle is a bit different but it's a good way to feel the force of it and understand how effective it can be. We did some of this in Pekiti Tirsia Kali

Love the content brother. I am 62 years young and have been doing martial arts since the early 70's. Still training. I'm not going toe to toe if I can help it. SPEED, SURPRISE, AND VIOLENCE OF ACTION are key. If I combine those three concepts, I don't care if you're a 25 year old MMA fighter, you will look in the mirror for a long time and regret you tried to intimidate me. By the way: how do you defeat a blackbelt in BJJ? With a $29.00 knife from Walmart.....

When I was powerlifting I had thick hands through holding the bar with no wraps and doing pinch grip work along with captain's of crush grippers. I used to practice something very similar to this on a punch bag. I've not picked up a weight of over five years now and can say the thinner guys hand would not have the same effect. My' bitch slaps' we tremendous with thicker hands... regardless of the force and speed generated behind the slap it seems to me the thicker guys hand has more, 'substance' ( for want of a better word) and so appeared to hit the bag harder somehow. However, I may be wrong I'm certainly no expert. Great instructive videos I'd love to go along somewhere and learn theses techniques they resonate with me holding a somewhat intuitive, instructive quality that they (the techniques) would actually work in real world situations. Unlike almost every other martial art I've come into contact with. Thank you very much sir for sharing. Namaste Az

Power is work done product of force and velocity. A slow heavy it can still get enough good force and power to knockout just as a very fast dynamic slap strike. I have a very slow heavy strike regards to the slap. And the impact point of bigger thicker hands would certainly help with weight behind it.

Hahaha Id never let anyone get withing "slapping distance"to ask a question. If i let you get that close, i have already lost. Create distance, evade and strike first. The fight started when you asked me to finish my drink.I would talk to you with open hands, create distance, look for an exit strategy and most of all not let you dictate the fight. First rule of any encounter: be first, be brutal, be quick and leave.
