You can tell Ken is from Seattle: He can correctly pronounce Puyallup!
First volcano I thought of was Mount St Helens. Puyallup immediately brought Washington State to mind, though.

First thought of Mount St. Helens, but after it’s top blew off I knew it wasn’t tall enough to fit the clue and (literally) guessed correctly.

Mt st helens was never tall enough. Wish he'd said the puyallup name though. I only know the more general term, tahoba, which means mountain. I believe it's what the city of tacoma got is name from, since the have such a great view of the mountain

Mt St Helens ain’t even close to 14,000 ft, not now not ever. That’s why I knew the real answer

I didn't think about Mt. St Helen's at all. I thought it was shorter than 14,000 feet. I went too far south on my guess. I went with Mt. Shasta. I knew that the volcano was over 14,000 feet at the summit. I thought it was closer to 14,400 feet, but I was wrong. The water part of the clue got me thinking of a beverage company. That is why I guess the way I did on the clue.
He nailed the pronunciation of Puyallup. I just looked it up he's from WA so of course He nailed it.
Jeopardy forever!
When I lived in Seattle, I could see mount Rainier from my window. I still get homesick for Seattle.
I'm glad I got this one right
Having had a friend from Puyallup, Washington certainly helped me with this one!
Got it! Lived in Seattle for a year so I better of!

Maybe!
Dumb move on my part tonight. Went too bleepin far south on my response. I was in the right mountain range. I guess Mount Shasta. I should have known better than that.
I raise my emotional support beer to Mustache Dad from the _Twilight_ movies! 🍻
Damn, this was too easy. I'm from WA.

Me, too. On my way to work down I-5 I can see it on clear days. "Ooh, the mountain's out."
I fell into the same trap as the one of the contestants did. I didn't think Rainier was a volcano so I went for Mona Loa instead.
That was an easy one.
Girl power!
Congratulations amy on winning a three day total of $58,195
Try your best guys!
Can't believe I got this correct by thinking "bring the water... well Rainier sounds like 'rain here' so let's try that"
@watson956

I like your thought process !
Well I knew the answer because that’s the only volcano I know in the States that’s higher than 14,000 feet
Ken probably knew the answer in less than a second.

I did, too; the elevation gave it away, although I thought I had read it was now 14,411.
Mt. Tahoma would have been bonus points.

Just "Tohoma," not "Mt. Tohoma." Tohoma means "the mountain."

@@seikibrian8641 no it doesn’t. It means “bring the water”, like it says in the clue

The word təqʷubəʔ means "snow-covered mountain".[12][13] təqʷubəʔ has been anglicized in many ways, including 'Tacoma', 'Tahoma', and 'Tacobet'.[14]@@Lalupin464
@seikibrian8641

@Lalupin464 No, like the clue says, there is a Puyallup name that means "bringer of water." But Tahoma is not a Puyallup name; it is an anglization of the Lushootseed təqʷubəʔ -- which means "the mountain" or "snow-covered mountain."
@Lalupin464
Ай бұрын
@@seikibrian8641 Puyallup is a dialect of Lushootseed. The origin of “snow covered mountain” is a theory by William Bright, a white linguist. According to actual Lushootseed speakers, təqʷubəʔ and other variations either means “mother of waters” or “don’t forget the water.” I speak a related Coast Salish language, and “qʷúʔ” by itself means water.
I was in the right area, but I went with Mt Hood 😐
Congrats on winning a three day total of $58,195 dollars Amy! You're gonna be a Champion in the making!
Wow..Justice Jackson has a great mind. She clearly has the most rationale on the Supreme Court.
Rats! I picked the right state but I guessed Mount St. Helens. Forgot about Mt. Rainier which is considerably higher.
Fun fact: The last time the name Rainier came up was in the first semifinal game of the first Wildcard Tournament. The question was: Before his death in 2005, he said he was "probably the last head of state to be able to recognize all his compatriots in the street".
Tahoma. It’s in my back yard.

I was hoping someone would respond with Tahoma and if they would accept it as an answer
What is Mount Rainier???
I got the answer right before Ken started reading the clue.
I got this Final Jeopardy! clue right.

To prevent spoiling your party, have it indoors during the rainier seasons.
Would they have accepted “Tahoma?” I genuinely could not remember its Americanized name

Americanized name? I don't think George Vancouver was ever an American.

Mount Ranier?
Easy peesy😂 Mt Rainier
A better clue would be “this American volcano was named after a British admiral who never saw it during his life.”
@dryzalizer

That's funny, I got the question right because I thought Rainier was a loose translation of "bring the water" as in the rain part but I see that's not the case at all.
