Yes I can see how committed he was behind most of his strikes, it's surprising he hasn't killed some of the fighters. Still needs to work on his ground game though.
Mr Manhoef is a very powerful bloke. One of the most terrifying kickboxers on the planet. NO MERCY.

Perfect build/ genetics for fighting. Just heavy enough to be extremely powerful while maintaining his fast speed, exceptional hands, great leg/ knee kicks. He became even better with his new found ground game later on. Solid fighter for some time💪 Everyone falls in the end but I look at the positive and remember all these fighters greatest achievements, that's how the mindset should be for all 💯

Dude Melvin is a true OG. He started in the 90s and carried his explosiveness even late in his career which is unusual unless you have freak genetics. 25 year fight career. I cannot think of any other fighter who had a combat sports career as long as Melvin's. A true legend and pioneer of the sport.

As a Dutch kickboxing fan i just love how he finished his training sequence with the lowkick while he was out. #legend Very good video man, especially the older stuff.

This guy broke my heart when he knocked out Mark Hunt. Became a fan afterwards, this is the style of fighting us polys love, aggressive and ferocious attack.

Dude was extremely accurate. I think that was his main gift honestly, besides the insane strength.

I loved watching him in K-1 .. There was nothing like watching his power connect with his punches 👊🏽 to the head or chin and watch his opponent get knocked out in a heartbeat. He definitely was a fun MMA fighter to watch as well. His POWER was beautiful to watch.
Manhoef had amazing timing, the first strike that connects whips his opponents head directly into the second punch he throws amplifying the power of the strike. You can see a decent example of this in the fight against Mark Hunt.
The level of these documentaries is top notch 👍👍. Thank for your hard work on these videos. I can only imagine how much work each one takes, with the research and editing. Really enjoying this channel. Cheers mate

This was Amazing! I've never heard of this man until Now! Very impressive!

Yes but the video does not show the reality, he has no chin and grapling, in Kick boxing most of his losses were by ko(14), and in MMA he was always an irregular fighter

Such a warrior especially being shorter than almost all his opponents. His an inspiration.
He will sorely be missed and had a great run in the sport no doubt
One of the coolest and scariest things ever was getting on the mats at American Top Team and my training partner was Melvin wearing a white belt.

Melvin will always be hands down one of the best fighters to watch.. ever. He had zero fear and gave zero fucks about getting knocked out. His combos were absolutely nasty and every strike he ever threw was going for a knockout. Epitome of all gas no brakes.

Imagine how well he fought against bigger opponents as he was't "real" heavy weight with frame of 173 cm (5 ft 8 in) and 93 kg (205 lb). Melvin has been always one of my favorite fighter due to his explosiveness💪

@@BruceLee-xn3nn his Mark Hunt knockout was impressive, but certainly didn't do well against Robbie Lawler. Not sure what other UFC alum he fought. I think he would have struggled as UFC is so balanced with the standing and ground games, they just would have taken him down and submitted him.
