I’m more interested in if he would have imprinted on Bella’s baby if she’d chosen him over Edward and they’d had a baby together.

I like how unrealistically Edward responds to Bella’s constant flirting with Jacob. He and Jacob just act like she has no control over her actions, but with the level of controlling and pessimism that Edward shows- he’d be giving her shit every time she so much as looked at another guy. She gets off waaaay too easily for how the relationship dynamic works.

And nowhere in the books, there is a mention that wolves age more rapidly than normal guys would. Technically Edward would be over a hundred years but no one seems to be creeped out by that.

That's not selfish just because you like the films. Literally every actor and actress in them hated them. Taylor Lautner said Twilight ruined his career. It's extremely messed up, and I don't get how anyone can think differently. If anything the whole "imprinting is not sexual until the kid is old enough to be having sex, and until then it's like older brother/younger sister or protector or guardian or whatever" is even more fucked up. It's called grooming, especially since it's a given that they will end up sleeping together and the older party knows this. And Meyers didn't stop at Jacob imprinting on a kid, if I remember correctly one of his best friends imprints on a normal 3 year old.

Imprinting isn't "falling in love" though. Technically imprinting just binds you to a certain person and you become whatever they need you to be including a completely platonic brother type.

cody baggett you know I was actually thinking about that earlier, like why did s. Meyer write Jacobs character that way and why did everyone like it at the time? I think it’s cus kids are like the most pure precious beings, and all they want is love and affection, and like, the idea of an older responsible person being there for a kid, loving that kid 100% no matter what is kind of awesome. So yeah i get what you’re saying about imprinting being more than “love”. I just feel like the idea was handled super poorly in the book, like the fact the connection happened instantly makes it creepy to me, so does the fact it’s implied he’s going to marry her. Also it just didn’t fit Jacobs character in general imo, he was this cool wolfy dude who fixed cars....actually, now I’m trying to think of what his actual character traits were, and I’m coming up blank lmao, so I guess maybe imprinting on a random baby does fit his character
