Hi, the filter protects against all chemicals represented by the color stripes. The writing on the red and violet stripe only clarifies certain details, in case of red for how long the filter can be used and in case of violet what additional protection the filter provides (against chloropicrin and phosgene). Apart from the color coding, the A2B2E2.... description tells you all you need to know about the protective properties 😉

Sure, those are very important topics many can benefit from, especially the decontamination part. Detection is however something out of scope when it comes to tutorials which are aimed for general population, but I can make an overview of what detection tools we have and how we use them. 💪

Hi there! Any combined CBRN filter will be more than enough, even though a simple gas filter without the particle filtration layer should serve you well. Technically speaking, what's you're looking for is at least an B2P3 filter commonly used in different armies. Even new ones are not that expensive because their protection range against other dangerous substances is quite limited.

Do you have any recommendations for where to find good GOST threaded filters? I have a Soviet mask with a GP-5, GP-7k and MS-4 filter, but all are either unsafe to breathe through or are expired.
