Thanks for your answer in my first comment. Yes, of course, I know that the Zedex bushing is an additional item and doesn't come as default. It's used just for more smooth move of the rail. But my question was... why the Zedex Bushing cannot be fitted to the new K03 Pro Hunter. The brass bushing cannot be exchanged for the Zedexbushing like you show it in your video "Замена на втулку Zedex в точилке Профиль К03". The Zedex bushing can only be installed in the K03??? ....and not in the new updated K03 Pro Hunter ???

Karl, thanks for your answer. Actually, you can set a zedex brushing. But that depends on the model of K03 you have. If it's a latest version you can set up the latest version of zedex brushing :) To make it clear, drop us a message to sales@tsprof.com with the version you have, indicated when exactly it was purchased and we will take a look if we have an appropriate item for you available in stock.

Hello, nice video. I actually just received my new K03 Pro Hunter, but I have a question: - I noticed the hinge/pivot unit of the rod / stone holder with the brass bushing appears to be hinged at the top of the unit instead of being hinged at the center of the unit in the center of the rod/brass bushing like the old K03 unit. What was the thought behind this change? Also, since this no longer hinges at the center, wouldn't that throw off the angles when using say the angle markers on the side of the lift unit because the pivot hinge is now at the top and not the center, so the angle change is not linear. Please let me know your thoughts if you understand what I mean.

I don't understand what you're referring to. I don't own a TSProf, but from what I can see from the pictures, it looks to me that the lateral rotational pivot axis on the K03 Pro Hunter coincides with the longitudinal axis of the vertical rack and pinion structure. So, it doesn't matter how the pivot rotates during sharpening, it's always going to be aligned and coincident with the same vertical axis of the rack and pinion structure. As the rod is rotated as the sharpening goes along the edge, the edge angle should remain constant. Am I not understanding you correctly? I bought a knock-off sharpener made by a Ukrainian guy on Etsy before the war Russo/Ukrainian war started. The pivot point on that knockoff unit is located off center from the rotational axis of the vertical post. To make matters worse, the vertical post leans towards the user. That's a very poor design. As the sharpening goes from the center of the knife to the right or left end of the knife, the whole pivot point structure would often rotate off the original position after it gets banged on a couple times during sharpening and the stone holder rod would rise or fall by one or two degrees due to the inward leaning angle of the vertical post.

The TSPROF K03 Pro Hunter lists a minimum per-side edge angle of 8 degrees. Is there a way to make it go down to around 6 or maybe even 6.5 degrees? I have some Japanese kitchen knives that go down to 6 degrees. I would like to be able to use a K03 Pro Hunter to sharpen those knives.

8 degress is a guaranteed min angle, using Fillet Clamps. However, it's possible to get lower angle but that depends on how your knife is clamped and its width. Obviously, stone is not supposed to touch the edges of clamps. If there's sufficient blade width allowing to remove a knife in clamps towards yourself and clamp it firmly, so this will be possible. Unfortunately, I can't tell you for sure now. It's needed to be checked in practice. If I'm not mistaken it's called "overhang".

For two weeks I am a happy owner of the new TSPROF K03 Pro Hunter. I have ordered from TSPROF EU: TSPROF EU OÜ Mahtra 20-18 Tallinn, Estonia, 13811. The order and the transport to Germany worked perfectly. I am enthusiastic about the convincing quality, the precision and the optimal handling of the knife sharpener. The new K03 Pro Hunter is the best knife sharpener on the world market. Now I have a question: is the "TSPROF ZEDEX BUSHING FOR K03" no longer required for the new K03 Pro Hunter? You can no longer install them. I wish the TSPROF team continued success.👍👍👍

If so where do I find it and why is the upgraded bushing not implemented into the most recent model? Thanks.

So, I checked clamps you were mentioning, but fillet clamps are only for small knives ? I would like clamps that can handle 8 inch kitchen knives, Japanese and German brands, Typical German 8 inch chef knife has 30mm thickness blade, is there any attachments that would allow me to sharpen it to 8 degree angle? because looks like fillet clamps take blade thicker than 2.5 mm, that wont fit any of my kitchen knives

  • @TSPROFSharpening

    @TSPROFSharpening

    4 ай бұрын

Fillet clamps are designed for thin and narrow blades, not for small. 30mm what does that mean? 3mm thickness or 30mm blade width? Please, clarify it. The recommended angle range for chef knives is between 32-38 degrees. The name of the brand doesn't say anything. It's not the shape of the knife or its size but also the steel that defines the cutting edge resistance against loads when the knife works. Fillet knives could be sharpened to 18 degrees total but for chef this angle is too small. If you describe the type of knife and steel used for it , we'll gladly recommed you the type of clamps and the angle that fits this particular knife best.

@TSPROFSharpening sorry, i mixed fillet single clamp with fillet double clamps, I ordered from your amazon site fillet double clamps. Japanese chef knives run low angle, some 9-°12° per side and 66-67 on HRC scale. German knives are more in 30s+° degree angle, not sure about others, I only have Japanese and German knives

I am waiting on a pre-order for this sharpener. I have done numerous emails and have not got a straight answer. I am told to wait a week each time. Are you still able to ship to USA or do business with USA? How long will I have to wait? Or should I start the process of getting refunded?

We make my apologies for that delay. We understand your concerns. Indeed we're overwhelmed with requests and complaints now. We do our best to get the orders to their customers as quickly as possible. We do work in USA as usual and we will. These days we'd received all necessary papers for exportation and shipped lots of orders to USA. We have a warehouse there as well through which we will make most shipments down the road. We process all requests and it takes time. Leave your comments here. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

TSPROF KO3 Pro is a standalone sharpener. Pro Hunter is a kit which includes Stand, 5 Diamond Plates and a Wooden Box. Same sharpener in both cases.

Ok so I bought fillet clamps attachments, they do work better and allowed me to drop to 10° angle per site, not any lower, although my hunter k03 states it can perform 8° per site, how??. 2nd problem, when I tried to work on the knife, mid holder that holds both rods are hitting center round console, not allowing me to slide upward, unless I raise degree to 10.9° per site, Im not happy with the results, such expensive machine and its not allowing me to perform not even 10° per site even with special fillet clamps. I also have Kadet system, although nothing is blocking, maximum degree per site it allows is 10.9° per site with a Digital Angle Gauge measured, is there any tips or advise on how to achieve that low angle per site?

We need to better understand what you sharpen. Why do you need exaxctly 8 degrees. Likely, the axicube is not calibrated properly. If could send us a video how you calibrated the axicube and position your knife it would help us a lot sales@tsprof.com.

I have a question please, I bought from you TSPROF K03 Pro Hunter a whilen ago, and I never had success to sharpen at low degree angle, lowest i can go is 13° without touching clamps, if I go any lower it hits clamps and bolts that tighten clamps, i tried with venev diamond, with t2 boride and with s carbide stones, same results. This machine should be able to handle 8° degree angle per side, what am I doing wrong? Do i need different clamps for lower degrees or what? Thanks in advance

I do not recommend buying this sharpener, I have ko3 pro hunter and kadet pro, although kadet pro has few less options, it is far more stable sharpener than k03 hunter. Ko3 Hunter main top swivel which holds the rod - always unscrews and as youre sharpening it always pop back and forth, you gotta always tighten the screw on it, if you tighen to tight swivel rotations will be rough and and create more resistance for turning as youre sharpening. Another flaw that is becoming very annoying is the bar that holds the miller clamps. No matter how much you tighten it, as you press against either left or right end of the knife while sharpening- it caused tiny dip on the edge of it even with light pressure, kadet pro doesn't have such issues, its clamps tightening has different mechanism but much more efficient and sturdy, im not happy with ko3 hunter sharpener, kadet pro is a better choice, even though it has few limits

There is a screw that holds swivel, which I had to lock a single time with blue locktight and never had any problems with it. Totally disagree with your comparison with kadet, those systems are totally different, and it's not about reliability, but about the design and features. Used and both and will recommend Kadet as a reliable portable system. K-03 is great solution for professional sharpening, that allows to work with all shapes and types of knives. With issues that you have with frame, that holds clamps it's better to contact sales@tsprof.com.
