Dr. Cloud is a gift. His insight, research, counseling, teaching, writing, speaking, ministry, and outreach removes misinformation & brings healing. Please have him on regularly, Dominique. Please review his other books & interview him. As a therapist, I point my clients to his resources every week.

I finally got divorced 7 years ago after my husband kept firing his own counselor and our marriage counselor. After many years of having issues I finally filed for divorce…he didn’t want to even recognize that he could be part of the problems. At the end of the day, I couldn’t trust him at all. I’m only half way through and this is such a great podcast, thanks Dominique!❤

I trust in God’s written Word. Proverbs 3:5 “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” We are living in a much broken world! God is Sovereign in all things! Trust Him!

Having grown up around skeptical ppl, I spent decades trying to push against immediate assumptions but man in this current global climate of mistrustful discussions/arguments, on many important subjects, its hard to believe basic trust will re establish a stronger foothold in our daily lives. This discussion is so important.

Trust seems to be so complex, but is actually so fundamentally rudimentary of a basic instinct, but can be difficult to obtain in order to feel satisfied and our own desires and needs to be met. 🙂

This is perfectly timed for me as I'm going through some tough times about something that happened years ago in my life and I'm only just discovering the truth about it now. My trust had been completely shattered, both with those around me but also in myself. I'm trying to understand everything, the situation, the circumstances and how/ why it all happened. I want to learn how to tell the truth from fiction, how to trust my own judgement, and to tell if those who have hurt me are being honest. I now know to look for them owning their actions, and what I need to look for to see if mistakes were made or if it was selfishness and disregard for my needs. I've ordered the book, because I can tell there's more I need to learn, but this has already been very informative. Thank you. ❤

So helpful. My daughter had a class with a professor and he keeps bringing up OTHER topics. He claims he's being more personable but in each situation she ends up in a "confrontation/or negativity". When I heard all this, we need to stay out of his class. It's actually when you add it up: derogatory towards women. With one comment you don't notice but as it continues: it starts to paint a picture. He wanted more validation from her than she was giving him. I finally said, he needs to teach, not try to be your friend. She ended up feeling so bad she pulled out and he gave her an F. She now has to retake the class. the first sign of one of these: he'll take an action of yours/or something you say: and reiterate it back to you in a totally different way than what you did or said. It was a music class, it should have just been about music.

Henry Cloud id a very easy person to talk to hope to get his book perhaps at the library? But I have had many trust issues for good reason due to past experiences and it is very hard to judge a person when we first meet them often we can be too trusting too soon and that takes us back again to trusting etc It gets to be like a gamble knowing the right thing to do to stay safe etc.
