Trulap 92lbs Adjustable Dumbbells - Better Than Nuobell and Snode?

Спорт

Today we take a (my) first look at the Trulap 8592 adjustable dumbbells. These have been making the rounds with reviewers, so wanted to share some of my own thoughts.

Appreciate it. I've been trying to not "sell" in my videos unless the product is super helpful/necessary. I just try to call out what I notice to help people make their own decision. These are not bad DBs by any means, but like I said in the video, there are trade offs with any brand currently.

Great review, Brandon! These seem ok, but I've yet to see this style of dumbbell that I would personally buy for my home gym. I think the cradle is a little off-putting, but also the fact that they are fragile makes them impractical. I mean, you're likely to eventually drop them at some point (whether it's within the warranty window or not). Btw, I probably would've made the same mess unboxing these lol.

I would say that you might appreciate two adjustable sets (if you already had). I had an original Stairmaster Adjustable (basically the Core one) to 50 lbs) but bought the powerblock to 90 - in part due to ability to upgrade further. But I use both on supersets (especially if supersetting lighter exercises such as lateral raises with dumbbell rows). Just saying it might be worthwhile to consider keeping a second set.

I'm in the market for adjustables, and it's a tough decision. Would totally go for the Pepin Fast Series but for the price point ($1,743 USD for the 2 X 100), not to mention that they're on a 10-week production lead time. So it's basically between these and the Ironmasters (of the handle-adjustable types, I don't see any reason to pick the Nuobells or Snodes over the Trulap). Basically it somes down to whether the quality, durability and dropability of the IMs outweighs a 30-second change time, vs. what looks to be less than 5 seconds with the Trulaps.

The dropping issue seems like a major flaw...id rather them take the time and make them drop resistant at least even if they cost more up front, its still cheaper than a voided warranty and buying a new dumbbell.
