That was the problem I was having with mine.. play in the cord allowed for the cord to come off the pulley system (while I was on the water; which sucked).. once I got it sorted out, I was good to go.. Thanks Native!!

I'm glad I got this vid and your comment because I think thats exactly what happened to mine while on the water, the cord loosened and came off the pulley. When I get home, I'm definitely gonna check that now.

I LOVE my native. But the rudder cable is unnacceptabley bad. This issue was on going and I finally had to upgrade to a third party steering upgrade system. Which if I were native I would take personal. However besides that, my native slayer max is my dream kayak.

Good points Derek, which 3rd party system did you go with? How is it now?

How do you do this on 19’ design?? My rudder doesn’t have the set screws on top, rather the cables are pinned to the pulley. My cable keeps slipping off the handle pulley and can’t get it tightened.

My Native Propel 13 rudder cable broke off in the tube guides. How can get the tubes out and get that cable out?
