To be fair for a while those teams were the best in the north west so even though they aren't like right next to eachother (I mean still pretty close to be fair) it still has that derby feel. If you live in the north west, everyone has Liverpool fan friends and everyone has United fan friends.

Nah, Liverpool ManU is also a Derby called North-West Derby and worsen because industrial revolution. Even "Roses derby" between ManU and Leeds is much bigger derby than Manchester derby especially on the 80's and 90's. Manchester derby is relevant in more recent years especially when ManCity is started more relevant in English football, before that no one care except ManCity fans.

Derbies are games where you can see rival fans in work the next day, but i suppose thats what happens in Ireland.

I’m sticking to my view that the biggest game in English football & probably in world football is Liverpool vs United. The NLD would be a second & it’s definitely a game I enjoy watching. As an Arsenal fan, I say Everton vs Liverpool is the biggest derby. The both of them have more trophies between them than any two neighbors, plus a LOT of hostile and, strangely, heartwarming history between the two. Spurs and Arsenal is a little too one-sided. It doesn't feel like a truly "competitive" rivalry because there's never been a period where we've had trophies up for grabs with the games determining the winner, but Everton and Liverpool had that from the 60s to the 80s. It's more like a dog-piss-marking scuffle. Two things need to happen: 1. Spurs has to actually catch up on trophies proper. It doesn't even have to be much. Just 4 FA Cups and 5 league titles more will do. 2. Arsenal and Spurs have to have a period of competitiveness where they're tugging at each other for top honors. That's it. Everton and Liverpool have that.

I support Everton and I’ve grown up around kopite in Liverpool my entire life. There was only me and my dad who who supported Everton and he’s been dead since I was 9. Our kid, my two sisters, my ma, grandad, uncle, cousins fucking everyone supports Liverpool and I can say that they’re not one bit arsed about us. My ma and my uncle care a bit but they’re older but the rest of them who were born late 80’s early 90’s really don’t acknowledge us. It’s a given they’re gonna win a derby and even if they don’t they’re still in with a shout of trophies and stuff. Tbh even I hate mancs more than Liverpool. I’d rather see the kopites win over City or United.

Went to some massive games between Liverpool and City 70s and 80s at Maine rd, night matches there were electric, remember a league cup semi final as hostile as anything anywhere else, must confess though , if Tottenham and Arsenal were on the Telly always made an effort to watch it

Depends in what you mean by the biggest, if you're talking about trophies and which one decides titles then it's the North West Derby (if you can call it a Derby) but in terms of which one fans are most passionate and get the most pissed about if they lose then it is no doubt the North London Derby.

Should have had expressions in there to defend the Tottenham side. Barca Real Madrid is not a Derby but a proper game. As far as derbies go, Galatasaray Fenerbahce is fierce, River Plate Boca Juniors actually had a copa libertadores final called off due to violence and moved to another continent. Benfica Sporting in Portugal. Rangers Celtic in Scotland. The Milan Derby. The Madrid Derby.

No we are not. That's just what the IRA sympathies sprout. Its more Welsh and English than Irish. The rolling 'Th' came from Wales. Its explained in the liverpool museum. The Irish surnames are more recognisable, so people assume it's all Irish.
