Play foden over him against Arsenal and Arsenal win the league last season. Foden is an incredible talent but De Bruyne is the best midfielder in world football.

If you watched us for the past 3 years you'd know that although De Bruyne is our best player, Rodri is our most important player. Better player than Keane, Better tempo setter, more dominant physically (6 ft plus), tactical fouls, passing, he's a creator and a metronome, and he has goals in his locker. well the only reason they left him out is because they were doing 2 cdms and one cm. obviously scholes gets the cm role so the only way to get kdb in was to get yaya out.

You may as well do a city and Sheffield utd combined 11 because there is not one single player from utd who'd get in. Bruno would get in city as a squad player and with a few months coaching from pep might play regular but that's it.

For the here and now, of course it is City, but you cannot discount the history within which United is bathed. It starts in 58 with the Munich Air Disaster and the fine players that United lost, but were nevertheless able to re-build. COYS

Scholes was incredible to watch... serious midfielder.... I remember watching Utd games on bbc2 before Sky started takin all the games. Since then I've seen all the greats... Agree to an extent. Think it really helps he's been in a Pep side and not a Mancini or Pellegrini team. I just think if were objectively talking the most complete midfielder to ever live it has to be Gerrard. Besides trophies there isn't a single facet of the game he wasn't incredible at. Vision, long-range passing, finishing, set pieces, leadership, work rate, tackling, loyalty, etc. KDB is as offensively gifted but nowhere close in the other categories.

@@BiggestBirdonMars I don't know if I can agree with KDB being "one of the best players in the world" while on loan at Werder Bremen then two seasons at Wolfsburg. He was incredible but Kai Havertz was also star in Germany too. But that's the thing- Gerrard did play CAM when Torres was in the team and was phenomenal... had 60 G/A in those three seasons. He's also played the box-to-box role and DM in his last three seasons which included a 13 goal 13 assist season. There's just no CM like him.

If City have another decade like 2013-2023, I'd argue we'd be bigger than them either way. It's not really a number's game, if you have failed to win the Prem for 20 years and your rival just won it, it doesn't matter if you got a couple more Prems than your rival, you are inferior. Football is just as much about history as it is about recent success. If we assume City wins another 6 Prems and another CL on the following, let's say, 10/11 seasons and United remains the same, we're definitely bigger.

KDB is a wonderful player. Undoubtably one of the best in the world over his time at city. However if you think he was a better passer of the ball than Scholes then you either were not around at the time, have a very short memory of are just in denial. Scholes was well known to commonly in training hit his teammates in the back of the head over and over again from 40 yards for a laugh. Scholes was simply for a large amount of time overshadowed by Beckham as was every other player in PL history.

@@kurt5079Scholes might be more accurate with those side passes etc, but the second you consider things like vision and timing, passes behind the line, variety of passes ( left foot, right foot, trivela, curve, crossing) KDB sweeps

De Bruyne is on the levels of Modric, Pirlo, Xavi and Iniesta. Scholes is around Busquets, Gerrard, Lampard.

Adam actually knows Man U history and whips out old school references relatively frequently. I haven't really heard Buvey ever reference anything City pre 2010 [pre Pep even]. Buvey also rarely mentions how EASY it is to be a City fan, particularly with Middle East oil money at your back. Being a City fan is easier than being one of any other pro sports team in the world. Hands down. Includes club rugby, NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, etc.

Since Ferguson left Man United, the two teams have played each other 25 times. Man City have won 13, Man United have won 9 (other 3 were draws obviously). Considering Man Utd have been very up and down in that time it’s relatively close so could be interesting.

Scholes and Giggs are probably the 2 most over rated players in history, played in the best team in the world for about 40 years between them and only scored double figures in the league 4 times between them. Nostalgia is the only reason they're rated these days, if they were playing now they wouldn't get near City's players and I don't even like City. Also in terms of success like Buvey pointed out, people say City bought their success, which they did, but don't say the same for United who regularly outspent everyone and broke transfer records under Ferguson.

The all time prem XI between these two teams is so hard to do because of how much the game has changed between the decades, but I firmly believe the man city xi would dominate the man utd xi.

De bruyne is by far the best premier league era midfielder, scholes was a cf for a lot of his career and he was never the best player in any of the title winning man united sides. Passing-wise he's top 2 with beckham on crossing and he's by far and a way the best through-ball, playmaking, dynamism, making split second decisions in congested areas.
