Pretty sure he circular breathes at some points, you can see how his cheeks puff up a ton then slowly get smaller without taking a breath. Absolutely insane player.

@@elividal9888 yessir.music saved my life growing go in the islands during high school. While my other classmates were involved in neighbourhood gun wars ,east vs west etc..i Was involved in concert band, Jazz Band And later we the juniors started the marching band (back when we wore t shirts with our School barracuda logo😂).did this all while playing Football the real football lol⚽) ...but I miss it..jazz band especially . taught me to be a very good Swing, blues and Latin Jazz player..improv time in band class / after school practice was my favorite part 🙏🙏

@@JAHDCypha oh me too. I started playin in within the year got from beginning to advanced band in middle school, got better at high school and loved jazz and marching band. Then stopped playing and I feel like I have to relearn the whole dang instrument 😂
i must say...i am in awe of Trombone Shorty and the rest of the band for "sexifying" such a heavy song...and a special shout out to the bass guitarist
youve never heard Trombone Shorty, until youve heard that sound echoing through the buildings in DT Rochester NY at the RIJF. Literally the entire city could sit in their backyards and hear from every neighborhood.
What I really love about this is that they all look like their having so much fun

Glad they brought in a New Orleans musician to play a jazz standard, even if it's shown in a popular light. One great aspect of pop music is that it can make less accessible or "outdated" music more accessible to wider audiences. The thing with Troy Andrews (Trombone Shorty) is that many would actually consider him a legitimate jazz musician, despite the several genres he crosses over into. Versatile cat

I just found this and it got me into more jazz as of recent! It really got me interested in the genre.
2:44 - 3:02 the drummer's face is how I look during a meeting realizing I shouldn't have had spicy food for lunch. Phenomenal performance though.

Back when the White House had real spirit and heart, and knew how to rock. And could get good artists to play there. I love Trombone Shorty!

I mean where your coming from but for real? public events by the president are just a waste of time and it’s too much stress for everyone involved. Just go to a concert. There’s lots of free events around your city if you look.
I saw Trombone Shorty live in 2016 as a young brass player. His ability to play and sing so beautifully and monstrously is just magical
Watched this so many times and just noticed that the mic starts falling at 2:47. Good on that sound guy to pump the gain real quick.
