I'm proud of the kid. I hired him for his first museum gig. He wasn't as tall as his horn.

@@RicardoBigTime Troy has an older brother, James, who plays trumpet and it was through his big brother that I hired him . He was seven or eight and had a way to go before his skills caught up to his will.Troy is a nice kid and, fortunately, I knew a few of his teachers at NOCCA. I used to see him on the street and he never failed to wave or say hello. Few know that Troy is a badass trumpet player.

@@derickboston4988 I've known him since he was seven. That was 255 years ago. His older brother, James and I have been friends for over 30 years. I produced jazz programs for the Louisiana State Museum. I'm 77. Troy is a nice young man. When I say kid he or James understand.

I used to live just around the corner from Tipitina’s. A short evening walk and I was transported to another dimension. Fantastic times.

For his relative’s birthday, he actually walked through Igor’s on St Charles Ave., playing his horn on one occasion. What a trip. Igor’s ain’t exactly the Kennedy Center!
Hats off to the sound engineers on this gig! Every single instrument sounds phenomenal + the whole thing together... wow!
saw him live at the Foo Fighters Euro Tour 2015. Awsome guy!!

I saw him at several concerts in Germany. Best was the show in the Serenadenhof in Nuremburg. The show with the Foo Fighter in Munich was the one with the worst sound ever.
I talked to a friend from New Orleans who kidded that we're going to have to call Troy "Trombone Tall - y" because he's not short anymore. Also, he blows a hot trumpet.
loved Esperanza's set so glad I found this. so many gems not enough time lord
They saved the best for last. Go home boy, NOLA for life!!!
Everyone sits there so stiffly. I'd be in the back of the room, dancing.
Saw him play in Dallas at the Klyde Warren park. Dude blew me away
Shorty, Barack, Michael B Jordan in the audience, Fiyo on the Bayou, "this is why we support the arts"... Sigh. When times were good.

Płaczę za każdym razem jak słyszę Esperanzę Spalding i trombone schorty. płakać mi się chce jak widzę Prezydenta Obamę z żoną na tym koncercie. Counting the days to remove the stench from the current resident. Back in those days, US had a real president that connected with real people, from all cultures and backgrounds. Loved and respected. Having Trump following him it was the universe bringing all the shit at once to pay for those good 8 years

@@smeandor Yes. Even in the solo, he's hanging in the back, while also giving so much sonically.
Must say... he is the best when blowing than singing. His tones moves me much more than his words.

Yeah but vocals opens up a much broader audience. Most people don't understand a solo.
Always amazing!!
Muito bom, melhor pura Arte da música
This is the sound of Congo Square. From Treme to Central City. From Fronta Town to Backa Town From Bayou St. John to Bayou Savage. From Africa to America. This is the music of New Orleans.
