    Thanks Glenn, congratulations on your new bike, you'll absolutely LOVE the torque surge, and make sure you ride it for a fair few miles to get the feel of it standard, then do the upgrades, you'll be amazed at the difference. Off the lights it'll pull your arms out, and overtaking is a top gear affair, peak torque is about 3k revs, so just roll the throttle on and eat horizon.. Good luck with it, let us know how you get on and have fun... All the best Del.

    In my experience I have come across similar items to this,I don’t know if you noticed a power increase but when we put similar boxes on bikes and run them on the Dyno they fool the ecu for a short while but the ecu gets wise to them and reverts back to its default settings,it would be interesting to hear in a month or so your opinion on it,if you can open the small box there might only be a small resistor inside,this is only our opinion on the experiences we have had with them,others might have other opinions,interesting video though

  • @Moonfleet41

    @Moonfleet41

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Pete, I've heard this too, but along with various similar opinions, some say that if that happens, just un-plug it, plug the standard AIT back in, let the ECU default back to normal, then re-plug the booster in again, and I guess it fools it all over again?! And yes, I very much noticed the difference compared to the short ride I had before, the pull away wasn't a lurch and a stutter as normal, it was just clean and progressive, and if you just pin it wide open, it surges smoothly right round the clock... whereas before there was definitely a step in it that picked up after 3k... you could say it's generally an overall improvement in tractability, the kind of which would usually be achieved by 1/2hr on a laptop on a Dyno just fiddling with the fueling!

Cut mine off after it enters the box about 20 mils and dressed the cut smooth. No cost fix that seems to work well with my booster plug and X pipe from TecBike parts......FWIW.

    On my ‘72 Triumph Daytona, that side cover contained the tool kit and liked to work itself loose. It did so one day on a straightaway northward of 100 MPH, and I pulled to the shoulder to walk back and find it. Five seconds after I’d stopped, the cover went skipping and sparking past me, straight as an arrow down the middle of the road. It didn’t stop for another hundred yards!

    In fairness, although it's fun to see the bike tearing through the countryside (and sounding great), the real test would have been "in-traffic" slow speed filtering, as this is why most owners buy the Booster Plug. The RBW slow speed throttle response is so choppy on the T120 that some owners have traded the bike in! Triumph have a lot to answer for on a £10K+ bike!!

    Hello Del, I have similar devices installed on my H-D Iron 883, they are Nightrider XiED leads, the leads plug straight into the oxygen sensors circuits. The leads fool the ECM into thinking that the engine is running too lead, it responds by adding more fuel to the mixture. The XiED leads help the engine to run cooler and they improve the throttle response.

    Thanks mate, the gloves are pure summer only, they're unlined, other than the usual cloth interior, but there's no padding or thickness to them, and they're very short and just stop at the wrist, so the wind would whistle straight up yer sleeves... oooeer! One cool feature though and why I like them, is they have some form of zig zag stretchy stitching on the inside of the fingers which curl the fingers in, a natural grip position, and it makes it much more comfortable to just relax your hands on the grips... seriously top quality leather, loads of feel on the switches, but above all mate, pure summer only!

    Well first day out on my 2018 Bonnie T120. Cold but lovely ride and what a bike!! Love that low-down torque!! I tried the heated grips which worked well....for awhile. But then, nothing. Thing is, with these silly heated grips I can't tell of they're ON or OFF, High or LOW!! Either I'm doing something wrong or the heated grips are not working properly. Oh well, those are my gripes about the grips...lol....

    One of the first modifications that I performed on my 2017 T120 was the Booster Plug. I thought that the fueling was a little snatchy when starting out and that removed that issue. I have seen no change in the gas mileage whatsoever. One change that I did make was that after watching your installation I went right out and copied your tidy on all the cables. It looks a lot better than my original attempt. I had tried something similar years ago on my Toyota pickup truck; I wrapped the O2 sensor in the exhaust with a couple of layers of aluminum foil which fooled the ECU. That made the fuel input much richer, but it did it at all speeds which didn't work out so well for my fuel economy. I didn't have any of the resistors and internal circuitry that the Booster Plug has. At any rate, thanks for the great video. The internet is better off when you post a video!

    Thank you for the great feedback buddy, as you may see from some of the comments, a few people have had negative results with the boost plug, but I personally felt that smoothing out the jerky pull away was a great asset, and it launches much more crisply now too... and thanks for your kind words on the install, I do get a little obsessive about tidy wiring! Maybe that's a lifetime of sorting out sticky birds nest?! Have a great week and thanks for you kind words Don.

    looks and sounds great brother . I can't believe Triumph would put a bike out with a choppy pickup .(Well actually I can) They must be so opressed by regulation as with all manufacturers . Bikes are now so lean for emissions it's a wonder we don't have more burnt out valves and blown head gaskets . Not to mention headers hotter than the sun ! ..Oh well I guess that's progress . I'm happy with my carbs and 20mpg in hooligan mode or 30 mpg steady and carbon monoxide poisoning if I get near the exhaust !😲👍🏻👍🏻☮☮❤❤

    Sure thing Brother, ridiculous regulations they have to dance round, makes bikes run so lean, they must fart flowers out the back! And if that isn't bad enough, they go and site a girt big cat convertor right under the sump to pour all that heat soak up in to your oil pan and make matters even worse, what was wrong with putting them in the silencers?! Maybe they're having some fantasies about centralised mass or something?!! But with that gone, the fuel richened up and 2 stone of pig iron removed, it rides like a startled gazelle by comparison! And I know what you mean about carbs, I love the Harley with it's big wheezing S&S window cleaner's bucket that spits back and stinks of fuel when you switch it off... no wonder the latte drinkers hate it ;-0 Keep safe Brother and keep in touch, all the best, Del

    Hey Del, Question. I've been thinking about slightly longer rear shocks for my 2005 t100. Before I bought it, the previous owner put a pair of Hagons on it. They're fine, but the fender height seems really low and I'm assuming it's because they are a shorter shock vs the factory ones. They measure 12 inches center to center, under load of just the bike. I don't have a center stand and haven't tried jacking it up yet. I know that's only 304 mm. I've read different shock heights for the different Bonneville models. I believe the Thruxton is the tallest at 360mm I believe? I don't wanna go crazy, but would like to add a couple inches. Do you have an opinion and tell me what the factory length is for a t100 on average? Appreciate it. Thanks

    Here you go Peter, perfect solution, These TEC shocks are for your bike, 335mm lowest and have the adjustable height feature to take them up to 375mm if you need.. so an inch higher right away, and up to 3 inches highest.... should give you lots of adjustability to set the back to height exactly where you want it mate.. I added the booster plug on my T1 20 after about a week it started popping big-time when I downshifted I removed it runs much better now. Was a great idea I liked it at first, smoothed out the jerkiness in lower gears , But now that I switched it back, I got used to it real quick and I love it without the booster. Also it seems to screwed up my reading on my gas gauge, it’s all over the place now ,don’t know if it’s related or not , but it wasn’t doing that before booster

    Very robust exhaust sound. I did the de-cat (Motone x-pipe) and switched the pea-shooters to Sleeper Pro silencers. Similar sound, but I am intrigued by your T-120's sound which might be a bit better. What silencers are on your bike? Keep up the great work with your very useful videos!

  • @Moonfleet41

    @Moonfleet41

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Richard, mine isn't twin silencers, it's a 2-into-1 system from the cylinder head back, it's the TEC Rebel 2-into-1 and you just have the single silencer on the right side, saves a massive amount of weight and opens up the breathing no end... it's the next level to take your bike to after the de-cat and a definite upgrade. It may sound similar on video to an x-pipe and open cans, but in real life it's very different, it's deeper and more solid with no echo, here's a link to the video fitting it, which was part of this series..... kzread.info/dash/bejne/oWGssblyiK-dZNY.html
