Wow! Terminal 1 looks so old compared to terminal 3 and 4. I also flew on Air Chinas 787, from PEK to LAX, it really is one of their better economy class products. thanks for sharing!

FlyCruise Singapore Technically it's not allowed, but depending on how the flight attendants feel that day they probably won't care. I was able to use my phone just fine on all flights, nobody told me to turn it off. The rule, apparently, stems from the fact that some of the phones sold on the Chinese market are very poorly made and actually do have a risk of interfering with flight instruments.

Some Hollywood movies have French, Korean and Japanese audio as well as English, some Chinese movies have English subtitles, and then you'll have one or two movies per language (Spanish, Hindi, German...) with English and Chinese subtitles. Otherwise most movies will be in either Chinese or English w/ Chinese subtitles.
