    2:11 Probably one of *the* best things about Japanese airports: ground crew waving the plane goodbye, presumably for safe travels. It was good you were able to capture that, thanks.

    Awesome video! Nice to see the service provided by Air China. I also think it's very strange that the cabin lights weren't dimmed for takeoff. It's an important safety procedure for takeoff/landing in the dark.

    Hey David! As a flight attendant i just want to comment the fact that the crew didnt dim the lights especially during night for take off and landing...Lowering of cabin lights is a safety procedure ...The reason is that “you want your eyes acclimated” in case of an emergency scenario like evacuation... Great video as always!! Regards from Cyprus !!;)

    I have to say that I really enjoy your reviews. I especially appreciate that most of your reviews are in economy class - I think it gives the majority of your viewers a realistic insight to the product they would experience themselves, as most can’t afford the luxury of business or first class. It seems that a lot of other reviews out there are only of the premium classes, which are all bound to be amazing, but it’s like watching MTV’s Cribs... it’s not a realistic lifestyle aspect for most people, so it gets boring. ☺️

    Great report as always! I also flew in this cabin in 2015 (actually came across this channel because of that :D)and had the same problem as you with the IFE. As far as I remember the screen could only be controlled with the other side of the remote control (so no touch screen). Discovered that way too late into my flight tho...

    The way to find the main menu is to click on mode (the center button on the remote control). Press once and you'll get on the main menu. Press twice you'll get to the audio channel. That's how you navigate through the outdated hardware on CA's Airbus 330-200. I figured it out on my flight to/from Taipei.

    6:44 Dimming the cabin lights is actually a safety procedure while take-off at night, as if there is an emergency while taking off your eyes are adapted to the dark and you can escape the aircraft easily, so it is odd that they did not dim the lights.

  • @yichizhang1619
    @yichizhang16195 жыл бұрын

    Widebody jets flying domestic or regional routes are quite common in Asia, especially in China and Japan. The old A330s with the old cabin are mostly only used on domestic or regional flights. It is also the reason why Air China is not refurbishing the cabin. According to my experience in PEK, the major reason you are not getting a jet bridge for today's flight is that the A330 will be used for a domestic flight tomorrow morning. Otherwise, they have to drag the aircraft to a gate for domestic flight after this.

    I also find the lights not being dimmed or take-off to be odd, myself. But I do remember quite well that both my flights on All Nippon Airways from Sydney to Tokyo Haneda and Back hardly dimmed the lights for take-off. I simply assumed it had something to do with airline standard operating procedures, or SOPs are they're known. Every other airline I had flown with up until that point always dimmed or shut off the cabin lights entirely for take-off. Another thing on those flights that I wasn't accustomed to was that the captain addressed the cabin once reaching cruising altitude. I'm more used to that prior to pushback, but then again, I'd imagine that's also down to an airline's SOPs. It's just little procedures I hadn't came across before in my travels. Every airline operates different in some shape or form after all.
