This is spooky, I was just looking at flights to shanghai from Manchester and the option via budapest with shanghai airline’s 787 was available and so I looked up trip reports for the shanghai airlines 787, and not only did I find it! But I got a notification for this video a couple seconds after pressing the search button! And it’s on the same route and everything!

This just proven the observer effect. By search for a flight with Budapest to Shanghai leg, you changed the Quantum decoherence of this universe and caused Simply Aviation to fly to Shanghai and not another city. The effect propagates backward in time so that's how he took the flight before you even caused him to take it

Shanghai airlines is China Eastern subsidiary, connections connections.. Plus business wise and budapest being one of European top tourist cities the aircraft will be full. China southern launched further xian and chengdu routes to budapest operated by shanghai airlines. Whole of Asia and Oceania is connected, just like Emirates only relies on connecting passangers to fill up planes.

It shouldn’t be demandless. Budapest is one of the most reasonable entry points for tourist groups to Eastern and Central Europe or even Western Europe. There used to be some airlines flying to Prague from China, but due to the COVID-19 outbreak and degradation of China-Czech Republic relations, almost all air services to Prague from China were terminated. Also, flights from Mainland China to Frankfurt and London are mostly not cheap because of quota and slot limitations, so transiting through other parts of Europe is suitable for those budget travelers.

Was on a China Eastern A350 flight recently (don't worry, just before COVID-19). And their safety instructions video also shown here is the cutest thing I've ever seen on an airplane. Had to smile when they were jumping the slide like it's a game.

just flew this route week ago. aircraft seemed brand new, spotless and smelled nice, lots of legroom. crew was good, food not great (though I very much appreciated fresh fruit) but all in all I was highly impressed.

Eastern airlines offer the best services and equipment. They are to be congratulated!

Loved the take off vision..very clear !! Were your peanuts warm ?? Great report as usual and the landing views were great !! Keep up with the excellent reviews !!

Yes the BUD Airport is so crowded at that time, I also flew with Shanghai Airlines from BUD to PVG. Around that time you have LOT Polish to JFK, AA to Philadelphia Emirates to Dubai, ElAl to Israel and a lot more long haul international flight and unfortunately BUD airport is so small and cannot handle that amount of people.:(

Wow, the IFE is good. A huge upgrade over China Eastern's 777's IFE. BTW, miss PVG, I transit through there about 10 times in the last 2 years :D

Took this airline LAX to BKK round trip in 2017. They had the segment between Shanghai and Bangkok. I remember complimenting the crew. Interesting thing- the coffee was served in thermal pitchers as normal but was a mocha type drink- learned it was a Chinese style. The meal was about like yours - wouldn't have received it on a US carrier with a similar route.

Budapest Airport just went under renovation and is in the profess of building a new pier with a dozen wide-body gates! According to the planes they plane to build another second pier on the opoosite side, so the crowdedness should go down a bit.

Love this video, especially because it is from Budapest. You should also try once the Budapest-NewYork route

About the numbering of the rows, they use a system that’s kind of like 1-10 for first class 10-30 for business class, and 30+ for economy class. The reason why is it will be easier for check-in desk.

The seat numbering rule is, First:1~10, Business: 11~30, Economy: 31~. Even if the prior class numbers are not fully utilized, for example, first class only has 3 rows, business still starts with 11 and economy always starts with 31.

Finally...A highs quality safety video

I used to take this flight from Shanghai to Melbourne, the space between seats were just nightmares, disasters and I am only 168 cm 49 kg weight. I barely slept during the journey, but everything else apart from seats were fantastic especially the cabin crew.

Majong are best game to kill time when flying long haul on Chinese airline. Easily get player from another passenger. 1 games normally takes 3 - 4 hours, 2 games already reach destination.

So with the China Eastern, its can operate with Shanghai airlines livery and vice versa.

The aircraft spends more than 5 hours in Budapest. After arrival, it's moved to that spot, where it doesn't take away place. Before departure, it's moved back to the gates.

Maybe not the best comparison but you could think of Shanghai airlines and China Eastern kinda like SWISS air and Lufthansa.. Swiss is owned by Lufthansa, has a smaller fleet, flys to less destinations but, is marketed as Lufthansa slightly more premium product.
