I have to stop at Shanghai first, cuz there’s no nonstop to Nanjing

I'll stick with the 777 er if at all possible. At 6'2" tall, the seats give just enough leg room for me. I flew on an Air China 747 once on my return flight and my knees touched the seat in front of me the whole time!

You're lucky your flight is only 12 hours, and you take off during the day. From Houston, it's 15 hours and we always leave just after midnight. Impossible to get any sleep! But I'm grateful to have the direct flight from here nevertheless.

Awesome review! Beijing Capital International Airport's Terminal 3 is simply enormous! :)Since Air China has a strict policy on the use of electronic devices onboard, did the crew stopped you from filming during the flight?

You bet they did! They told me twice but however still wanted to document my trip report for you guys ;) it's a little ridiculous, we weren't even allowed to use our phones to listen to music on the flights. But it was all good :D

It's normal, they just want to be safe, but you can film with Ipad with flight mode on or with cameras.

No mid-flight snacks? Did they have free snacks/beverage in the galley area?

They did not unfortunately, only the two main meals. For a 13 1/2 hr flight you’d think they would give out a mid-flight snack at least. Make sure to bring a few snacks on board with you 😉

How is the IFE? Are the entertainment options limited?

Luke Gokcen from what I remember there were a lot of entrainment options from English language tv shows and trending movies. Much as what you you would get on American or delta airlines. Thanks for watching :)

I have a question why did your flight take a route over Alaska instead of directly over the Pacific Ocean?

ZapTomato because that's the straightest route! Remember the earth is a globe and maps are distorted when projected flat

The main reason is that it's the shortest route. Second, it's safer. If some emergency happens, aircraft can land very soon. Of course, when sunspots are intense, flights often take Canada-Greenland-Russia-Mongolia to avoid harmful sunspots.

I dislike the new landing announcements, they used to do it manually but now it is a automated system that plays the same thing on each flight when arriving. I just don’t feel the hospitality anymore during the announcements.
