To further elaborate on the Javelin Spear Guard + Turtle Form, it seems like they can only throw their javelins while moving in turtle form. Their range is pretty short but they can melt units with their javelins (they do 20 reg damage and 50 armor piercing). During settlement battles you can walk them towards the towers, throw javelins at any units guarding a tower and cause them to rout pretty much instantly. After that they can just capture the tower.

Unrelated to the campaign, but its turn 5 on a 194 Liu Bei and I got an Event where Wei Yan joins the faction for free! Not sure what the event trigger is, and if I recall he joins you when you are down south historically. But it was a nice surprise! Edit: He also starts with 2 free skill points. So you can get paitence and be 1 point away from Tenacity of steel.

WUTUGU stats are definitely dueling worthy

Brilliant and disloyal, that commander got "balanced" so hard that he may betray you sometime in the future, after all someone else can just choose a low-satisfaction character from your court to become their spy

@shini da everytime I hired a spy I knew about it 10-20 turns later. They try to steal smth, or lower satisfaction, or revolting. Never ever had I my character to turncoat from me, while I had plenty unsatisfied characters in my campaigns

in my playthrough both Cao Cao and Yuan Shao paused their battles in the north and made a beeline straight for my lands after i united the tribes

Im amazed at how many generals u hoarding, at 150 upkeep a pop doesnt leave much room for a great army. I think I only had like 10 or 12 generals total before I united all of nanman and was trying to go for emperor seat. Also do you stream? on youtube or twitch?

oh also u dont have to worry about losing the generals u let go early because after u unite the tribes u can always hire them back. Should aleviate early and mid game difficulty and have more money to buy units.

Any tips on using elephants serious?

Always charge through the enemy. Use knock back and cycle charge right back. Don’t get stalled in the enemy troops and they will carry you.

i think meng hou is easy because you dont have to deal with lady zhurong. her wildfire buff is insane; took out 3 of my max tier army. after what she did to my army, I had so much more respect for her

Chewiebaka there are a few exploits that can allow you to run max elephant armies if you want that

@@SeriousTrivia It is always interesting because there are so many ways to play Liu Bei early on. You can migrate literally anywhere although now our options are more limited in the south which is more credible too. But i guess that if you make a tutorial like video, the most likely "easiest" way is what you showed in your older Liu Bei videos where you take the city of Dong early and the mine then expand in the Shandong peninsula or you could even wipe out Cao Cao early ( dont remember if you did this) which will take away all his manipulations and make the diplomacy easier. But personally, the way I like to play Liu Bei is to be as realistic as the game allows us and "suffer" for some time . So i try to stay landless for as long as possible, focus on getting all the right characters/techs and help friendlies in their wars a bit, possibly help Wu against Cao later, then either first grab a few settlements in Jing province or move to Chengdu directly and find a way to get at war with Wu :)) It does not make an efficient campaign at all though but it is fun :)

btw most of the 50 stats generic generals are still poo poo imo. they may have good stats but what they lack is the unique armor that the named generals get. I usually only keep the generals with unique 44 armor because the armor is what makes them on a different level. generic generals can only equip the bronze and silver armor u get from missions and armor smith which can only add authority and minus expertise. just some info i learned after a play through.

i only keep the generic ones with brilliance to be cave lords and one or two good assignments. oh and one tamer for the -upkeep% to animals cuz i was playing as mulu.

The night battle on them is quite good as there are no other ways to gain that so they can be easily worth about 15 points of morale hit on enemy armies

@@SeriousTrivia u can get night battle from personal missions just gotta use ambush often. it levels on all 3 characters so after i finish it early i just put each othe 3 characters into their own armies and they all have night battle.

Why are alot of city's in China call nan like nanjing nanking

Nan means south so nanjing means the southern capita while Beijing means the northern capital. And Nanking is just a alternative spelling of nanjing so you are referring to the same city just like Peking is an alternative spelling to Beijing
