My knowledge is limited, but I recall hearing someone say that house Hightower is still around during the events of GoT but their standing had falling considerably. Enjoyed the video, learned a good amount from it.

their standing hasnt fallen at all!! they are one of the richest and most important family in westeros, except for the royal families/a few other main houses it basically doesnt get better than marrying a hightower! Old Town is one of the largest city, a cultural point and the cleanest city in westeros + the hightowers can gather a large army faster than any other family in the reach and have a strong naval strengh. And for further info Dany recalls them as being a loyal house since they supported her father in the rebellion, very cool house Another fact: Ser Gerold Hightower (the white bull) was the commander of king aerys' kingsguard!

14:36 Nitpick, but I wouldn’t say that most of their history they were vassals of House Tully. That was just during the Targaryen rule. They were around hundreds of years before that. That’s one of the Tully’s big problems. They have bannermen that aren’t historically loyal to them and are richer or more powerful than them. Great video anyways,

Great question! Samwell is a sworn brother of the Night's Watch, so he can not be the head of House Tarly (in the books that is). At the end of the show, he is the new Grand Maester, which means he renounces his family name, titles, inheritances, etc. This is why his sister is to be the next head of House Tarly.

I wanted to discuss the Houses that had a pretty prominent role in Game of Thrones, or at least the show, since I have yet to read the books, and also only one House from House of the Dragon, so I unfortunately wasn’t able to cover the Velaryons here. They are such a great House though

And I found out bran isn’t in season 5 of GOT. WTH?

Did I miss Brieane of Tarths house or ?

I haven't read the books and I specifically didn't look up more information on them because I didn't want to spoil myself as I am really loving the show so far haha. No worries! There are only very minor HOTD season 1 spoilers in this video, none that would ruin season 1 for you if you have yet to watch it. There are also absolutely no spoilers for any future season to come, as I didn't want to spoil myself haha
