what sup brother! Greeting from the USA to the ROYAL British Nitrogang!! Anyway, you're 100% right, although the HPI Nitro RUSH came out way before the JATO did. But it was a single speed, so I would say it's direct competitor was the Nitro Rustler. And btw you know I love HPI, and yes, hopefully one day I can get either the HPI Firestorm or the Nitro Rush.

I just bought a used one for 120.00 with all kinds of extras, it has been sitting for 5 years, cleaned it all up checked the engine as it has only had a gallon of fuel through it and the bad boy fired right up after 4-5 pulls!!! I am pretty damn excited as I have wanted one for years but never got around to getting one until now!!! Nitro two speed BABY!!!

@@johnpangle3064That’s a good question actually. Because if it’s hot you would want it to run rich so it can be cool, but if it’s humid you would probably want a little lean. I’d say richer it though so it does not overheat. :)

YUP bro! Them E-words are silly, thinking they are faster than a JATO. Maybe they catch fire faster and rip wheels and diffs apart faster, then YES< they are fast! ahaha. I think even the fastest ARRMA felony/infraction is slower than this, without the optional speed pinion gears. In stock out of the box forms they don't hit over 65, I'm quite sure.

Heck brother, nobody I know has hate for the 3.3 Trx or 2.5 R . I've never had engine problems with either & almost all of my troubles has been from human error. That's for giving us a dope run vid 💯👊 Salute big dawg 👍😎

I got a big 3.3 Tmaxx I always love listening to the 2 speed and popping wheelies with it. Oh and I can’t forget to say That nitro smell coming out the exhaust always reminds me of the Nitro gang

I had a tmaxx that had a blown 3.3 and I put a 2.5r with a custom tuned pipe that was made to downspout through the oval hole , I made a wheelie bar from a Kmart rc car and eventually got a widemaxx kit with a 72 bronco candy blue body and I ran the dogshit out of that thing for 6 almost 7 years and loved it everytime nothing like the smell of nitro burning !!!

what's up my fellow T-maxx brother! You know the Nitrogang life I see, gotta love the nitros, I agree. I used to own a 2.5r motor, was great for the size. And yet people hate on traxxas nitros, I just don't get it. Usually due to user error in the first place. Honestly as long as you're not running too lean, it's almost impossible to have engine damage.

That's so Awesome that you did a Jato video as I have been do upgrades to mine this week. Iv been in Jato mode lately. My last speed run was 61mph on 20%. I have a few goodies on the way.

hey bro! What upgrades are you looking at?? Brakes? Mine always has brake problems, but it's still drivable. You gotta love the JATO, it's fast, runs straight, the 2-speed is reliable and sounds great. The fastest I had mine (not on video) is 65 MPH, so it will do it's claimed top speed. This means it's faster than 95% of all RTR electrics too.

Brakes I did first. Free little upgrade. I removed the tension spring on the linkage and replace it with a solid tube. Now the brake actually lock up when fully applied. I have a smaller spur gear on the way and a THS pipe on order.

what's up homie! Ye man, the tuning process is alot of trial and error. People always ask me how to tune, but really there is no perfect advice I can give, there are so many variables, you know. It's best to just tune to a temperature.

I’m currently running(well at the moment rebuilding) a Revo 3.3 and am fishing for a Jato with just the right price, as it doesn’t truly matter to me what upgrades it might have aside from the engine. I cannot wait to run a heavily powered Jato! Wheelie bars necessary!

The fastest I had mine unto was 65 MPH, in stock form, not on video of course, because the camera tends to rob about 5-8 MPH at those speeds, also I gotta accelerate slower.

For real bro! I know! Ppl dont appreciate the true Beast Mode on a stock jato. I was running rich and with a huge camera on the car, but ive had this to its top speed if 65 in prior runs. That means its faster than 95-98% of all rtr stock electrics, including the arrma infraction if the speed pinion isnt installed.

I think so, you can try it. The Slayer is basically a 4x4 version of the nitro slash so it's parts should work on it too.

Hey bro. These tires are almost the same width as the stock jato tires to be honest. The only real diff is they are super soft and hook up very well. If ur going wire more of a road style tread be aware that those wheels tend to be smaller in diameter than off road wheels. So your top speed cud change too. i just bought one brand new in the box with upgraded shocks, aluminum rear and front arm links, updated bakes, aluminum screws all around , aluminum rear and front shock towers . hubs upgrade incase i wanna go with bigger wheels and some more other upgrades . i paid $600 . Is that too much ?

hey bro! This JATO is running 100% stock suspension, I don't modifiy anything unless I have to. The rear tires are just much sticker than the stock tires, they are ol at this point, but still run fine.

My buddy just brought me a jato that he had the motor replaced on. It's never been ran and needs broke in still. Guess I have time to break it in for him lol. Are they worth the work and effort?

hey bro! Whats going on! Main thing is you got TOOO much POWAAA!~. JK, lol . Anyway, are you sure your gear mesh is normal, you should not be striping gears. Also it's highly possible you're getting gear wobble under throttle. Make sure the bearings and all the shafts are not wobbling or crooked in any way. Let me know.

Hey can I have some advice? So I have a hpi mt2 and I recently swapped a hpi t3.0 engine but no matter what I do it just snaps 2 shoe clutches and I can’t find 3 shoe clutch and flywheel online to buy. I’m from the uk :)

Hey man! Question for you, if it's a pilot shaft style motor (some are). Then the basic traxxas clutch system should fit. So are you currently running the HPI 2-shoe circle clutch?? When you say it snaps them, I guess you mean the spring right?

ye bro! The stock brake system is slightly defective and poorly built. You can see how the brake cam arm hits the side of the diff case, this is why the brakes suck. It's just a bad design. I sometimes rebuild it, then it's fine for a few months, then eventually gets bad again. So weird, I know.

The shark has the same look as the JATO 3.3 baby. Put some fins on the Jato, and its golden.

You need a nitro powered scooter 2 or 3 engines that would be awesomely!

Need to make a top speed video bro, only other rc to hit top speeds like this was the Schumacher with a 3 speed

hey my dude! Whats up Nitrogang! Based on my experience and many many comments and forums, the main reason you have engine trouble (besides dirt getting in) is you're running TOO LEAN! Gotta run richer like the Former US President! JK. Also you need to always be checking the temps of the motor, during this run the engine temps did not go over 220 degrees. Also don't constantly be at full throttle for over 5 seconds. You notice I do a speed run, then let it settle down for a few seconds..

Basically with all the newer HPI Nitro and other companies Nitros what do you think is the best 2 speed or Nitro that can be upgraded to two-speed potential I'm trying to choose between the HPI trophy truggy 4.6 and the Kyosho Nitro tracker is there any other nitrous you would suggest for around the HPI price range the Nitro tracker is $350 new and HPI is $100 more but it's also a 1/8 scale I just want a Nitro like the trophy truggy so I can have a nice Nitro for bashing I spent more time using more patience and practice with my Nitro and at this point I have more love for Nitro than any electric brushless and even my 1/5 scale gas RC I became more of a Nitro fan in the past couple months than I ever have been just by spending more time with it so I know Nitro fuel is pricey but I'm trying to dive headfirst into the Nitro world and the only one I own right now is the volcano s30 from Redcat with the sh 18 engine I finally have the tune almost perfect and I know this Nitro requires more maintenance and patience than the higher-quality Nitro RC like my previous question what would be your best suggestion for a 4-2 $500 price range Nitro RC for bashing

hey my dude! Lots of people ask this, I'll be honest with you, nobody other than the person running the motor can give you good advice and do a good job. There are just too many variables, you know. LEt me give you some good advice, don't mess with the Low SPEED NEEDLE, you're really only running the High speed needle to a desired temperature. Yo should be checking the engine temps and shooting for around 230 degrees, not more than 260 though. At those temps it should be optimal and will not bog down, if all other components are functioning well. Makes sense??

hey bro! If you're going to be spending almost 500 on a new nitro, I don't recommend the CLASSIC, only go for the T-MAXX 3.3. IT's significantly faster, bigger and more robust. Anyway, I have a new T--MAXX 3.3 video coming out in a couple days, I can almost guarantee you will get it after you see it. NItrogang!!!.

@@hybrid32494 i put these hoons on my wr8 nitro with a 12mm to 14mm aluminum hub adapter and they grip so nice! nitro baby!

Fix my original t maxx .15. Its only front wheel drive. But when you turn the front wheels by hand the back wheels will spin.. you start it up and hit the throttle just the front tires spin. 🤷‍♂️

I had a Jato when it first came out I literally bought every aluminum part they made at the time I put more money into it than it cost factory out off the box.I had to get rid of it cause the cops always came wherever I went.

Jato 3.3 is awesome. 108kmh with mine. And you put battery on the middle and you delete the wheelie at the rear for more stability. And you know what ? I bought a old jato 2.5, took the front arms, put them on my nitro Slash with some proline accessories and i made a fuckin nitro drag slash baby !

Considering I had a heavy camera and mount all the way at the back it still did not front-flip at all. Question for ya, you used the same AA battery holder for the center mounted batteries? I'm looking to get the hump pack for now.

The camera is mounted all the way on the rear of the wheelie bar, meaning there is a lot of extra weight on the rear end, and it still drives straight and does not flip. Can you believe that!!. Totally the best speed chassis there is in the 2WD stadium truck segment.

hey my dude!! Yes, the OS carb upgrade is the best thing you can do for the TRX 3.3 motor. Many people have reported it's a valuable upgrade, you're right. In my option for the price of that carb (maybe 80-100 bucks), I'd say the stock setup is adequate. My own jato is 100% stock in this video and runs good enough for me, also keep in mind I had a relatively heavy camera on the JATO the entire time.

@@ramos.nitrorc Hey bro, I'm glad dot help you out quick on this issue. You dont need sealant for the carb. The traxxas carb already has 2 o-rings around the base as it goes into the crankcase. As long as the o-ring are there and in good shape, sealant is not needed.

hey buddy! yes, the Jato is always a 2-speed! You can hear it shift in the video, that is the 2-speed engaging.

Listen I'm not hating on the 3.3 Traxxas I know a lot of old school Nitro guys like them but a lot of people say you can get a much better Nitro RC for how much Traxxas once for a 3.3 Nitro of any model I know that the engine have connecting rod issues basically hybrid I'm here to ask you a question you're always really good about answering and I appreciate that you've helped me out a lot I have a question what is the best 2 Speed Nitro under $500 I'm really interested in the HPI trophy truggy 4.6 I know it's a single speed but I sure it can be made into a 2-speed or should I get the Kyosho Nitro tracker it is a two speed with reverse and I'm not too concerned about having reverse but the Kyosho Nitro tracker is only a 1/10 scale but it is built somewhat similar to the HPI trophy truggy the Kyosho is labeled a monster truck but it's it's real low and squat it just like a truggy what do you think I should get out of those two or if you have any other opinions or suggestions let me know sorry for the long comment have to make it long to get the details out any help would be appreciated you always help

hey bro! You need to check the 2-speed adjustment set screw. Chances are it needs to be turned out (counter-clockwise) for an easier gear change. You could have other problems, but adjusting the 2-speed shift point is your first thing to try out before other problem-solving methods.

When that 2 speed baby is on the mind..... man becomes useless lol

So before I even watch the video I have to comment when are you going to run the HPI 4.6 I think it’s been like six years or something like that since you got it maybe longer lol Did the shark die because it was just laying there What tires are on the back of the jato It sounds like a turbo when you let up on the throttle and slow down lol Warm up nitro cool down electric lol

hey bro! I've delayed the Savage 4.6 break-in because I've got too many other side-projects going on right now. Plus I need to make sure to break in my friend's Nitro Rustler first. I accept a few repair videos for friends, and that's what delays my own projects. Anyway, the shark was fine, we threw it back, that fishing pier is pretty deep and about 2 out of 3 catches wind up being sting-rays, ells or sharks, sometimes the occasional flounder too. The rear tires are a pair of old Proline Dirt Hawgs 2.8 size. They are highly worn at this point and are too small for the car (id say about 4 mph of top speed was lost from this alone)..

hey bro! I know, right! Convering a Jato to electric is a total waste of time, although I wonder if the 2-speed could still be functional. What do you think? I mean as long as you're able to hit the high RPM and mount a proper size pinion gear on the motor then maybe, right?????

hey bro!! I got a couple GAS RC videos in the works, just for you! Don't worry, the GAS GANG is here and it's alive! A video coming out this week will show a Zenoah HPI BAJA along with a t-maxx..

It's two speed because it's too weak and otherwise can't keep up with the insane torque and power you get from electric. I used to have a T-Maxx 3.3 and it was fun at first but all the work in running it just right and the whole start up procedure is all time taken away from running your RC and enjoying it. And there are two speed transmission available for electric as well so it not unique to nitro powered RC cars and trucks so I don't understand why your always screaming two speed baby liked it's so special because it's not. Harlem baby!!!

hey man! THat's my personality, that's how I talk and I'm just a big NITRO Fan and I love this hobby. Unfortunately the crawler guys are super boring and never sound excited, you know. Anyway, yes, many people use the glow driver, this is nothing surprising. In fact it's highly recommended and can eliminate issues with the glow plug wire if there is a fault. If you ever run into starting systems you will be problem solving with your own glow driver.

Or at least a gas powered scooter , not electric

My friend, please don't abuse sea creatures just for the fun of it!?? That Shark has ancestry that goes back over 450 MILLION YEARS!! They have survived all the major extinction events during those 450 MILLION YEARS, and are living breathing testament to nature at it's most incredible!! So PLEASE my friend, show some respect to these incredible ancient sea creatures by not laying them on the ground suffocating to death!! It's cruel and a total dishonour to a creature that will be still be here on Earth LONGGGGGGG after Human Beings have blown themselves to pieces and extinction...( I am not looking for conflict brother, I just get upset seeing such a special creature suffering for no more reason than some interesting YT content. Fair enough if you fish for sustenance, but if that's your intention, then you must hit the creature very very hard and fast on it's head to stun and kill it so it doesn't suffer any longer than absolutely necessary. )

hey bro! I wasn't going for TOP SPEED runs for this video, and I was using only 20% nitro for these runs, not the typical 30% I use. Plus I was accelerating slower than I normally would to compensate for the heavy camera and mount all the way on the back of the chassis. This particular one has hit 65 MPH previously. Why don't you tell me what you think is faster in stock form??
