Yeah the traxxas carbs have a certain charisma about them!! The entire trx set up is truly so simplistic yet high performance. The two clutch shoes always last and are dirt cheap to replace!! New fly wheel whenever you wanna swap motors. Love nitro, wish traxxas would do a revamp to the revo and tmaxx specifically!! Wouldn’t take much honestly

YES!! Finally a person who appreciated the regular older style controllers. I must say it's also one of my favorites! Also it's had far less battery drain or signal loss issues that the newer TQi radios where the antenna is not exposed. Thanks bro!! NitroGang!!

haven't had a nitro since 2007 when i was 13 just bought a used s-maxx 3.3 today getting back into it

About to finish a full resto of a 1st Gen Nitro Stampede. I got it used about 25 years ago. Had the stock .15 motor. I dropped in a 2.5R when they first released. Ran one full throttle test run straight into the only sign post within the whole field. Needles to say it exploded into several pieces leaving a debris field roughly 100 yards. It bent the chassis plate. I ordered all the replacement parts, mocked it all up and forgot about it until now. She's just about finished up and I can't wait to smell that nitro burning. This time I'll keep it away from any obstructions. Might even drop a 3.3 into it. I also dug out my OG TMaxx from storage. She's pretty much ready to go just needs to be freshened up. I had put in a Ciro .21 in her and had updated the chassis to the wider suspension and newer driveshafts right before I stored her away. There's just something special about driving a nitro truck that the electrics can't compete with. Ya they're faster and more convenient but the sound and smell of a nitro rig can never be replaced.

@@SLC_nitro you gotta try their 12% oil content, even then I feel if it’s around in a decade I might go lower 9% oil for performance!! But the engines stay lubricated forever with their normal 12%!!!

For now I'm going to Torco 30/10 . The 20/16 I had from a break in fuel I was using. Sidewinder is good fuel tho for sure

What are some good nitro fuel to run in trx 2.5 and 3.3 engines nowadays? New to nitro, waiting on warmer weather to break in all 3 nitros I accumulated this winter. Also what percent and oil content to run?

Hey Hybrid was there ever a such thing as a b13 model tmax? I barely can remember but I thought the longer wheelbase was b14 and the b13 was the short wheelbase original.

hey dude! I've never heard of a b13 or b14 model regarding any traxxas nitro. They had model numbers which were usually 5-6 numbers, but b13 or b1 was never one of the sequences.

There’s my orange jato that’s what I got. I just got a new engine again, and it’s my 3rd motor. I replace 6 motors now

Hi I have 2 tmaxs truck one raminator a rc 10 gt and a plane trying to get them all runing good

I would either use VP or sidewinder. Bones brew is tech VP . I been using VP . Man I wish Trinity fuel was still around . Backyard basher was the best by Trinity back in the golden years of nitro.

Dude !!! Bones Brew listed the last of their FUEL stock a few days ago. I purchased another !!! 12qts of their 30/8 blend !!! They may still have some in stock.... CHECK IT OUT !!! Buba !

We still have sidewinder brotha! ❤ they’ve got 10-16% oil with 12% content being the most common. And nitro in 20-25- and 30%! The 25% is a very cool turquoise colour

I actually own a older model nitro Revo that has a super old os 18tm motor that's from really early 2000s

Where that track at?

I have a slayer pro, and I just installed a os 11kr carb. I'm having a bit of trouble getting the throttle linkage to link up correctly. It will run but the throttle arm bumps into the long arm coming from the servo. If there is anyone here with any tips I'd much appreciate it.

there is a grub screw in the sections that control the servo linkage throw, you need to mess around with how close and far you have the sections they should be little allen wrench holes

@@MaxwellBucknerthanks for the reply! Been doing that for a while now, guess I should have explained myself more. I also tried to reverse the linkage to where the throttle arm for the servo is opposite to the brake and reversed the servo direction, still works but rubs a bit on bottom of carb throttle arm. Maybe I can fiddle with the carb location, twist it a little left or right, as long as other people have done it with normal stock parts then I at least know I'm doing something wrong!

DID yOu KnOw!! 🎉🎉 the traxxas revo big block header sold separately with the carbon fibre lip for the spring is the exact same header for the O.S 0.21 TM for cheaper!! Buy just the engine and get your header from traxxas to save a gallon of fuel in cost

hey my dude!! I would highly recommend the Traxxas nitro for you. Ofocurse you know we love all nitros on this channel, but consider the great parts support and great electric start system on the traxxas over the VRX. BTW the jato is much faster and you will love the 2-speed.

Also, I know they aren’t the best handling machines!! In comparison but you have to expose the savage transmission hack for the splitting the top off!! The entire 7 screws and the entire TVP stays together!!! To grease and maintenance!!

lol, one obvious reason, the EXTRA high MPGs will help you save money so you could buy more Nitros!! My 2008 Prius still gets 50+ mpgs at all times, you cannot beat that. Thats real world data and not some estimates which Mazda publishes.

​@hybrid32494 ya but you have to drive a prius. No thanks. My car gets 38mpg and has some style and power when I want to have fun. Also has turbo noises. I'm not worried about saving $20 a week in gas especially if it means me driving a lame car that I hate.

Honestly it’s just what they do to their customers and their fellow businesses. They tell consumers of their nitros to run their fuel only, which wouldn’t be an issue if it wasn’t overpriced and very heavy on oil. Plus they have sued tons of businesses, like hpi almost lost everything because of a radio box design. Traxxas nitros? Amazing, I have 3 right now. But Just them as a brand aren’t great people, amazing customer support though

I hate the 3.3 engine I can never get a good reliable tune out of it.

I really don't like traxxas, big generic hunks of plastic. Lots of models very similar. Only thing going for them is parts availability.

Thats me. I'm experimenting with pinion gears and realized 13t was way too low. I put a 18t in and now it goes strait. 20t was to hot, 13t made the tires spin. I'll find the sweet spot.
