    A Horse is much more vulnerable to weather conditions and in general. They require Food, Water, good air (Altitude), Shelter, Medical Care, Training, Rest, Grooming and Attention. A Car can survive in almost any condition, temperature and altitude for prolonged periods of time, sometimes even just forgotten and left there. They require Gas/Electricity, Mechanical Checkups once in a while, and Insurance. If someone hits your car, you can get it fixed or get a new car. If someone hits your horse, there's a good chance you and the horse will die. If someone hits your car, you can still drive it or have it towed. If someone hits your horse, you can't do that. If someone hits your car, you can sue the one that hit you. If someone hits your horse, you're considered a Traffic hazard and were knowingly putting yourself at risk. A car has much more utility than a horse in the modern world and overall doesn't require nearly as much time, effort, and money to prolong it's lifespan. A car can be used as a shelter in time's of need and carry hundreds of pounds of various sized loads on it's own spread across a large surface. But most importantly: Your car feels nothing, it has no desires, It will never complain, it doesn't need a break, it won't throw you off of it, and unless it's broken it will always do what you want it to do when you want it to do it.

    why not horse lanes?

  • @marialindell9874

    @marialindell9874

    3 жыл бұрын

    Cities couldn't bother to make areas/lanes that are good for horses. London's Hyde Park Stables do have the access to ride in Hyde park, near Kensington Palace and Bucningham Palace because they have specific areas they can ride in. Those areas are also used by the horses used by the Cavalry. Basically you would need a softer footing like a mix of sand so the horses feet won't get stress damage or other damage. Riding on hard surfaces like asphalt can be harmfull. Mounted Police Units use special rubber shoes though that absorb some of the shock from the hoof while walking. Some people use rubber booties.

    In California, it is the law that horses can be used for transportation on surface streets or open highways. Closed Highways, or Freeways, are prohibited. Kind of understandable due to the speeds involved with freeway driving. Cities can impose restrictions for safety and sanitation, however they can't prohibit riding or driving horses from their streets. Also, horses have the right-of-way in all situations. A motor operator may not pass unless signaled to do so by the handler (driver or rider) of the horse(s). Most fast food places don't want horses in their drive-thru and that's their right.

Just because something was done in the past doesn't mean we should still do it know. We have better vehicle options, and riding horses is unnecessary and dangerous for them A horse shouldn't ever carry more than 15-20% of its own body weight, and most Americans are obese! Let horses run and do their own thing, they don't exist FOR human transportation. Lmao

    Technically traveling by any NON MOTORIZED means is constitutionally protected. Driving a motor vehicle is a PRIVILEGE and why it requires a license. Traveling on publics roads is ONLY A PRIVILEGE in a motor vehicle because driving is a privilege but traveling on a public funded road by unmotorized methods is a right . I'm not arguing the safety precautions of the law but it's still unconstitutional to hold a right of travel to the same standard as a PRIVILEGED form of travel .
