"Trans Athletes Won't Get Periods!" Fiery Debate On Transgender Women In Sports

Ойын-сауық

Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by British shot put champion Amelia Strickler, and human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell, to debate the banning of transgender women from competing in women's sports and the impact it is having on female sport in general.
Piers begins by expressing concerns that women's sports records are being broken due to a clear physical advantage that transgender women athletes have, in certain sports, due to growing up with a male body that has higher levels of testosterone.
Peter Tatchell agrees that in some cases it could be unfair, but says it is equally unfair to have a blanket ban for all transgender athletes, where some don't have a clear physical advantage. Tatchell believes each athlete should be treated individually.
Amelia suggests that even those who may not have a physical advantage, still don't have the same biological makeup as women, and so will not go through things like periods and other conditions that biologically born women will.

There have been thousands of women standing up and calling out this nonsense. They have literally been silenced. In Australia we even had a female MP expelled from Parliament for wanted women to have access to safe places. She was labelled "anti-trans" and a "neo-nazi".. Moria was simply asking that trans women have their own spaces and not take over female spaces and it cost her, her job.

My female friend was an avid cyclist who rode long Km every day on the road. then introduced her new partner to it so they could ride together. He had never really played a sport before or exercised. After a few rides when he got the hang of it he was already faster than her and recovered better between rides too. A few months later he didn’t even want to ride with her anymore because she was too slow for him and he moved on and found a faster group of men to ride with. My feelings weren't hurt. He was right. I tried football and got my ass kicked then decided baseball would be a better choice. I was a pitcher and outfielder for years. Had a lot of fun. Never once thought, hey I'll pretend I'm a girl and compete against girls. I wouldn't be able to live with myself. see, this is the part of the argument where people are shovelling in a lot of chauvinism - the belief that being male, any male, is a birthright of superiority when the reality is that plenty of women can beat men in sports. Even if a man dedicates his life to a sport. Pakistan's pole vaulting record for example is lower than the women's world record. the average Indian man is smaller than the average Latvian woman.

I can’t believe Piers is even considering this conversation in any way. The man will always come out on top in sports. Why don’t you take away the WNBA and see what happens to the women athletes. You would never see another woman on the floor because they would be getting smashed every single day. If you take the best men against the best women in any sport , other than target practice with a gun or something like that there will never be a woman’s team that beats a man’s team. The best man against the best women wouldn’t even be close. That’s definitely not a knock on women. I’m trying to stand behind these women who have worked their whole lives to become the best athlete they can just to have it all taken away by cheating bullies. It just doesn’t seem fair or seem right to me. Maybe create some sort of a trans league. When was the last time you saw a trans woman get into men’s sports? I can’t think of any example. It’s always the man who didn’t perform the way that they pleased when they were going up against other men who decided to take advantage of women, and they always end up doing better when they’re playing against the women. But if you combine men and women’s sports, you would hardly see any women athletes ever playing professionally in any sport IF ever I’d be willing to say you probably wouldn’t find any Serena Williams and Venus Williams played a man who was ranked in the hundreds or higher. I don’t know if it was on the same day but they got their butts kicked 6-0 6-1 and 6-0 6-0. I believe in Texas, a high school soccer team played the US women’s championship team the Olympic team and the US women’s team got absolutely destroyed playing against 14 and 15 year-old boys There are so many more examples And this is feminism today? It is so ass backwards, and I have three daughters, and this just makes me sick to my stomach.

It really isn't astounding. The reason they are getting annoyed about transgender women playing alongside biological women is that on average a person born male performs better in sports so a biological male playing alongside biological females would be unfair. This is not the case the other way around because biological females joining biological males in sports don't have a major advantage. If you ask me, trans people should have to have proof of hormone treatment before entering their genders sports so the competition will be fair.

That's almost a whole school of trans athletes per year. BLANKET BAN IT NOW.

But doesn't a person join a competition to win? (the person definitely wants to have as much advantage as possible). Why would the person enter the competition if he/she is at a disadvantage? Also, why would a team get the person if he/she is a disadvantage? A team will always try and get someone that has an advantage.

@@Shaolin91z NO, they’re not women. When trans people are self identifying, they’re forgetting that identity is also about how one is perceived by others (society). A trans woman is a biological male. The definition, and experiences of male/man needs to be broadened to include them. Trans women have absolutely nothing to do with women and girls.

There's at least a few reasons why that's a bad idea. 1. Almost no one would watch it. Even know women's sport is not popular and for that reason woman athletes earn significantly less than man athletes. 2. There are two sexes. There is no third sex. If anything, there should be a category for only women, and a category for other people. Trans "women" are men and should compete with other men. Trans "men" are women who take an unhealthy amount of testosterone, and therefore they shouldn't be allowed to compete with women, and therefore welcomed in the "other people" category. 3. Trans rights activists would not be satisfied anyway. Their narrative is "trans women are women", not "trans women are trans women", and as long as we do not allow these men into women-only spaces, they won't stop, and therefore finding a common ground is pointless. The discussion is fruitless and we should stop being apologetic.

about 20 yrs ago played adult competitive tennis and for a time, my mix-double partner was a guy who was very petite and feminine ( he preferred playing in skirt, so I imagine that today, he might be a transwoman). He was approx. 10inches shorter than me and probably half of my size. Yet: he could whack that ball with so much force that I could never return it. I was relatively good and won some amateur tournaments, and my serves were close to 100kmh, so I was “going for it too”. I even beat men sometimes, but only because I trained more and was younger, but if paired up with a male of similar age and physical training, a woman could never have a fair chance.

I get very painful periods to the point I have to stay at home sometimes. But most of the time I have to go to work and just deal with it. It makes me angry when men claim they are women when they don’t actually feel What we feel. When I gave birth to my child I had an episiotomy, basically slicing my vag to give way to my child’s head who is a bit big. I have to have stitches and I almost lost a lot of blood. I had to stay in the hospital for almost a month because there was blood loss and they were considering blood transfusions. My point is, This is not only unfairness in sports but unfairness in our reproductive organs that extremely affect our health and wellbeing.

A non gender category would be the best solution. That way that if a male or female or Trans or intersex wants to compete they can. This way everyone in the category knows what is happening. I personally hate when I watch a sporting event especially a hard fought one to be discounted due to drug testing that will be debated long after the event.
